Is anybody looking forward to seeing this movie? I know that I am. What do you guys think of the trailer? Will this really be "the best final destination movie yet"? It has been said that if this one does good in the box office, unlike number 4, then a window for 6 and 7 might be open. What are your thoughts?

It became like Saw, they figured out it made money for as long they kept doing more movies. Pretty much both series became just an excuse to see ominously gory deaths after the third.

They actually have two more movies already lined up after this one. Not too excited about it, but that falling bridge does look pretty freakin' awesome.

Gotta admit, the concept's been done to death at this point (see what I did there?). It's just going to be the same old story of a group of people narrowly escaping death and then dying in various, mostly implausible ways (often times simply as a vision so they get an excuse to kill the same characters many times). Not really that excited I'm afraid.

It's just going to be the same old story of a group of people narrowly escaping death and then dying in various, mostly implausible ways (often times simply as a vision so they get an excuse to kill the same characters many times). Not really that excited I'm afraid. I agree however this time, if the person that cheated death finds someone else to take his place, he will live. Not that exciting however it is a slight change which is always good. I always see these movies as a "grab a bucket of popcorn and just watch people die" type of thing. Similar to Transformers.

Isn't the idea of more than one "Final" Destination a bit redundant? How many "Final" destinations can you have? - Only one surely?! Fine, make more movies about such a wafer thin idea if you 'really' have nothing better to do with the money... but at least give it a more sensible/accurate title; Like "Penultimate Destination"

Haha, I agree with you, it's been the final destination about 5 times now. Just because the story Is redundant doesn't make it a "bad" movie to see at least once. You have to admit though, the creativity that they put into the death scenes is fairly interesting, maybe the movie isn't, but those scenes are...most of the time. I'm not crediting it as a "good" movie, but still, I think it should be good for a watch.

I think movies like Saw and Final Destination show how valuable original ideas are. Like mental diamonds.

The thing i dont like is that noone really survives in Final Destination. Every time someone survives one movie, you end up hearing about how they died in the next movie. So it always comes off as too depressing for me. Noone really survives since death comes back every time they cheat it until they die basically. I still say Final Destination 2 was the series high point, hopefully this one is alot better than 3 and especially 4

On Imdb, the 5th installment has the third best rating so far. The first having a 6.8, the second having a 6.3, and the 5th (so far) having a flat 6 out of 10. So based on peoples votes, it's won't be as great as the first or second, but it will be better then the 3rd and 4th. The movies aren't really "character building" movies. They just kind of introduce who the "main" characters will be, and then they showcase their creative death scenes. So in actuality...they are put together just for the death scenes.
