What Is This Called?????????????

Archive: 20 posts

Hey Thread Readers, I have a quick question for you guys.

In LBP2, or anything really, physical things HAVE to be even on both sides, to me. It makes me anxious and jumpy if its not. Also, thread titles.... Each word must be Capped, or I get mad/tense/etc.

Thanks, ILL

But pressing the "." key with a jackhammer didn't make you jumpy at all? No pun intended.

Well, being perfeccionist with your writing is perfectly natural. I edit my posts a lot, because every time I see a stupid mistake I did, I just can't leave it that way. Or if I remember how I could've explained the content in my post clearer. English not being my first language, I'm always unsure if I'm being clear.2011-08-03 07:05:00

It sounds like you have OCD.Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It basically means that you have certain habits or rituals you get into to make every day life bearable. It can also mean that you have perfectionist qualities that you obsess over. For instance, did you know some people cannot stand it if you do not put two whole spaces between a period and the beginning of a new sentence?Strange isn't it.It can drive them crazy.2011-08-03 13:23:00

Well spotted It's "perfectionist", right?
As I said, English isn't my first language and just one of the four I know. Sometimes the influence from another language gets in the way, like the pronunciation of "cc" we use here in Portugal. Sometimes it messes with your head.

No...spaces...between periods...and the beginning of sentence...*shivers*
My problem is I like even numbers and symmetrical objects/things. For example, right now I'm eating a box of chocolates and I have to eat four at a time so I can keep the number of chocolates even. I also arrange the chocolates in a symmetrical, or some sort of flipped pattern, but there has to be a pattern

Correct. And not trying to pick on you. Just found it ironic.

And don't worry about having OCD. I think everyone has a mild form of OCD one way or another. I do too.

For example, there are 3 light switches that turn the lights on/off near my garage. One on the top of the stairs, one on the bottom, and one in the garage. And when I want to go to the garage and see that the light switch upstairs is already on the "off" position I will go downstairs in the dark, and turn on the light by flipping the light switch downstairs to the "off" position. I then turn the light back off by turning the light switch in the garage to the off position. And now I'm happy. Because all the light switches are in the off position.

TV or Radio Volume, always in even numbers!!! Multiples of five are acceptable, round numbers score extra points!!!

Really. I think that OCD is very common.

It is. I'll be creating something and my brother will get mad at me because it's not symmetrical
