How do you listen to music?

Archive: 16 posts

Out of curiosity, how do you guys listen to your music? I'm not so concerned with the medium as the "Play Mode" - if you will - itself. That is, do you listen to an album all the way through typically or do you "shuffle" your music? Or are you the controlling type that hand picks each song throughout the day or makes playlists for various moods?

And when you answer the poll please explain your choice as far as why you listen the way you do. Personally, I think this could be pretty interesting.

I'll start I suppose. I listen to albums as a whole typically as I feel that's the way music was intended to be heard. There's just something great about being able to listen to an album from start to finish without having to skip track. Just my preference. Now... what's yours?

How I listen to music?
Windows media player

anyway, to be serious, I always listen to music in the way of tracklists.
I have like 45 kinds of tracklists with a mix of some music

I chose the third option. The reason being? Well I'm not that into music, but I know a good tune when it comes around. Then I just listen to that song throughout a varied time period (depends on how catchy it is ). The only album I own is Eminem's 'Curtain Call' - the last one he released :blush:2008-12-18 14:14:00

I'm a Windows Media Player guy myself.

So, I'd say you handpick your music. I'll change the option as that might fit better than being a track-by-track listener.

With the volume up high and the bass on max.

I do option number three. I make lists of music that fits well, has a certain mood to it or is never boring to listen to. I must have about 20 different playlists. That way I pick one out that I feel like, and boom, I'm done.

I prefer to not know which song is coming up next, so I would use the 'Shuffle'.2008-12-18 17:18:00

If I listen to something too many times in a short period of time, I get sick of it, like Christmas music. So I prefer to use shuffle.2008-12-18 23:25:00

I have over 2000 songs on my iPod, and I just let it run through songs. I don't even touch the iPod, since all my music is awesome...2008-12-18 23:55:00

I listen to one band/artist at the time on iTunes.

For example, for the last week, Bad Religion has been repeatedly on shuffle on iTunes and my iPod (& soon iTouch )

I pretty much always listen to full albums at a time. I view albums as "one piece of work" instead of just picking out songs I like or whatever.2008-12-19 01:42:00
