Toy Story 3 DLC

SO, the release of the TS3 DLC is only two days away! Because I'm so pumped for it, I've decided to start up a little thread here all about it.

I'm not terribly excited about it but I'll probably end up getting it anyway. I'm all about robot costumes and Buzz's hands and feet look like they'd be helpful for that, plus I like that he comes with a new set of teeth (there's not much variety in teeth so far). I've also got some idea's for Rex's costume, and the Slinky dog costume looks like fun. I hate the Hamm costume though--yech! The levels will probably be ok, but nothing to write home about, and I'm not terribly excited by any of the decorations I see, but 'eh, I'm a sucker for decos nonetheless. And having another background to choose from is always nice.

How many costume packs are there going to be? I can't imagine there's that many characters worth making costumes of so I hope they don't do as many as they did for Marvel.		2011-08-01 09:44:00

I'll always buy level packs. Even if MM didn't technically make them (?).
Not sure if I'll get the costumes, I usually don't buy the expensive/licensed ones..

Knowing that the level pack will be out in two days is such a tasty surprise. I hope the two dinosaurs and Hamm masks can be closed so they can face the screen, Hamm especially does not look like our belove money-pig. If so, I may buy the three costume packs sooner or later. Disappointed with the Decs. Was hoping for more.

I'll get it for the new materials, and the Buzz costume. Not interested in much else.

Been saving money for this pack for a while now and not buying any of the other dlc released in the last few months. It's Toy Story so I'll definitely be buying the level pack and 2 of the costume packs. Will be expensive but I need to treat my self. 2011-08-01 23:02:00

Thanks for the post fumetsusozo! And yes, I agree with you all about Hamm's costume, you'll never even be able to see the mask as its on the top of his head! The rest look great, especially Slinky and Buzz. Zurg could probably use a bit of touching up, I think, as there's no mask! Although, he does have a gun and a new set of teeth, which is always a good thing.
I'm mostly looking forwards to playing through the level kit, collecting all the prizes and acing. Then I might make a TS themed level later on.		2011-08-01 23:06:00

Same here! I'll get the levels instantly. Especially if they're proper LEVELS with challenges and replayability. Not a fan of the showcase levels. But those are still excellent for the materials and stickers.

The Woody costume is going to be in costume pack 2. Just the alien costume that came with the LBP2 Collectors edition is in the level pack.		2011-08-02 21:29:00

Hm. I'll probably end up getting all of them. There's at least one thing I want from each pack and it's worth paying for the whole costume pack rather than just the one with the thing I want so that I'll have more options in costume making. Oddly, my favorite thing I see is the Triceratops front claws. I can think of a few uses for those, most notably a Raziel costume. They wouldn't even need to be stickered 'cuz they're already a pretty good color.2011-08-02 21:41:00

Just played through the pack. It's pretty much rocks! I also splurged for the Buzz costume and it is sweet. I love how you can make the wings go in and out by smiling and frowning. If you're on the fence about getting this kit, GET IT NAO! I don't think you'll be disappointed.2011-08-02 23:55:00

Yeah, the pack is pretty good. I don't mind that they didn't include trophies; but I'm disappointed that they didn't make an effort in including pins. They were a great addition to the game and wish they'd add more.2011-08-03 01:15:00

Thought I should say this, but there's a really tough challenge for a few prize bubbles for this one, it makes some of the story mode stuff seem like breeze from both LBP1 and LBP2, I mean the Sticker switches challenges in Gravity of the situation and Escape from Planet Z, because you only get one chance & a very small time frame (about 10 seconds) The last sticker switch challenge in Planet Z is one of the hardest things i have ever experienced, and I don't think having more players will help, because if you pass the prize bubble, you blew it, and even with nearest checkpoint close by, you cant suicide from any of the lethal stuff nearby respawn and try again fast enough.2011-08-03 06:37:00

Lol yeah there were a couple of spots in the level they really could've spruced up on.

For example in Escape from Planet Z, during the first ride through the space cart,you can see a trail of bubbles high in the air shortly after the first sponge appears, well I thought that was were some prize bubbles i was missing were, so after about a half hour of trying to get there i got out of the levle a bit and the trail of bubbles were just there for no reason.

I was recording a bit when i got up there, i should have it up on youtube by tomrrow		2011-08-03 07:13:00

Just wondering but has anyone used andy's house theme background for there pod? it look off when I got off of the controller it blocks my earth and moon it has them in the background and when you get on it to view whatever it clips threw.2011-08-03 14:30:00

Yeah, me too. Think I had it cleared in 3 hrs. I was glad to not see X3 and X4 areas. I'm still trying to get those in the POTC and Marvel kits. All in all, I thought it was pretty good. Heck, where else can you get this kind of entertainment for six bucks? I would've liked to been able to skip the cutscenes though.		2011-08-03 19:05:00

They didn't want to flood people with to much DLC at once in order to make more money
in the long run and so they got DLC to release for the next two weeks to come,
