I wish bolts...

Archive: 21 posts

Could be set to invisible, seriously, like what's the reason why they have to be visible? My level I'm currently creating, has a bunch of cogs rotating, and it just looks so ugly with the motor bolts showing, and I have tried to put a thin layer in front of it, but MM just loves messing with me, so they make it so the bolts go through (??) the wall. So amazing!

Who agrees? Discuss? I don't know really, I just wanted to vent my anger somewhere lol.

Yeah, I had to glue the glass in my one level because I didn't want bolts on the glass. At least I think I glued them... I don't remember. Do I even own this game?2008-12-18 02:52:00

It's not like it's that hard either.
Are people just going as fast as they can at the box chute part?
There's plenty of time to wait as one runs by and climb to the ramp, stay at the ramp, wait for the next box, scurry to the next ramp, wait there, wait for the next box, jump for the light.

You people must have been raised on your Playstation games...

Not really, everytime I got to the flying box spot, before I got to it was that stupid 3 thing thingy. And my Sackboy would always move to the furthest layer, so when I tried to get to the top I couldn't and when I tried to get on the right layer, it would be too late and since you made your level so annoying with those little slides when your falling, I would fall all the way to the bottom.2008-12-18 03:04:00

OWNED! ....AGAIN!

Anyway, PM me a suggestion to make it easier to not derail this baby of yours.

Back on topic: I usually bolt or use dark matter (but you can't use it in areas you can see easily). Even when I glued sparingly (like two or three objects), the level fell apart. It was on a copied save, so that's good.

Try making the motor bolts really small. They won't be invisible, but it'll look a lot better.2008-12-18 03:13:00

Yeah, that's what I do. It's still noticeable since it's a gold color bolt on dark green glass.

Or at least let us be allowed to change the color, you can't even add stickers to the bolts... Eh so much stuff that annoys me with this game...2008-12-18 03:25:00

Well you couldn't expect them to think of every little convenience when they had such a short release deadline. I'm sure they'll get around to improving these annoyances eventually.2008-12-18 03:49:00

Well, when I look at their levels, I don't see any bolts, how in the heck did they do this...2008-12-18 04:03:00

I definitely agree with the original post. Sometimes having bolts visible can really destroy the scenario you are setting. Take the digestion level I have... you don't really expect to see a giant piston in the middle of the small intestine. But, well, it's there, and you can't ignore it.

Sure, I could probably rebuild the section with the knowledge I have now of the create engine, but it would take a few hours to do a minor cosmetic change which could be fixed with one tick box option.

When you can make sensors and magnetic key systems invisible so things look like magic... why not bolts, pistons and other such things?

You can make pistons invisible if you set them to minimum length of 0 2008-12-18 13:27:00

Meh, they're not really invisible. You can still see the joints.2008-12-18 14:04:00

I've never had this problem, so I yet have to experience this situation before I can make total conversation on this subject...
(Insert flame for pointless post here)
Ok, Ok. I see this as a big problem, Ok, but I usually put on Bolts for the sake of looks, as well as use.

What I tend to do in this scenario is make them very small, then place decorations like foliage above them to cover them.2008-12-18 17:04:00

I think that this is most likely going to be patched soon enough. If not then we can eat Sony.2008-12-21 17:17:00
