When i try to save my level, i get: "Recent changes to your profile could not be saved due to an unknown error"

I hope it just means my profile and not my level

I restarted my game, and it's now telling me part of my profile is corrupt, and i need to update my game O.O

Has there been a update in the last 20 seconds?

Ouch. So it won't let you load your profile at all now? Do you have a recent backup that you can import?

If you find yourself unable to save your profile, the solution is generally to start deleting levels on your moon or objects from your inventory until it lets you save. If it'll let you, you can export those levels so that you can recover them later. I don't know much about this error in LBP2 but saving errors in LBP1 were usually caused by having too much stuff/too many levels (though I don't think I've heard of that happening since Yarg). It could also be that something in your inventory is glitchy in a way that the game doesn't like or doesn't know what to do with.

It isn't letting me log onto my profile at all

Should i just bite the bullet and start again or wait for them to update the game with a patch or something?

Infact, i think i may have one of those items that allows you to twist stuff round into different layers, i forget what it's called :/

But surely then, more then just me would be having this problem, since it was on cool pages, with about 10,000 plays

The last time i backed up was 23/6/2011, so that means i would have only just started some of my bigger projects D:

It isn't necessarily limited to items used to create glitches. Sometimes something gets corrupted and it just plays havoc with the game. Usually it's a corrupted level and I'm not sure how often it has happened where an entire profile becomes unloadable. I really don't know too much about this unfortunately.

I'm sorry to say it, but I doubt there's anything that can be done for your profile at this point. You can try going into the game data section on your ps3 and deleting the LBP2 stuff there (except for your profile) and see if your profile will load after that, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Most likely you're going to have to bite the bullet and delete your profile and then import your backup. Good luck.

[edit] By the way, instead of double posting, you can use the edit button at the bottom of your post to add things. Double posting is semi-against site policy and generally frowned upon on most sites so the edit thing is a really nice feature.

I just got the "Recent changes to your profile could not be saved due to an unknown error" message as well! Was exiting the Battlefront level (MM Pick'd one), and then it gave me that message and then froze my PS3! I've already lost my profile once, and I didn't back up yet today, so I was freaking out when I read this. ._.

Luckily it didn't screw ANYTHING up. At all. Idk what THAT was about. O.o

Gonna back up my levels and profile onto a USB stick asap!

Always a good idea. I keep an old sd card in my ps3 just so I can back up my profile any time I feel the need.

Keep in mind its not a back up if you overwrite the previous backup... At one stage you may overwrite the good info with bad. They don't take up much room so keep a few. As mentioned on a USB KEY/SD Card, not the PS3 HDD!

Ah man..I just backed up my profile today, on the Ps3 itself. So get a USB, alright that's the smartest thing.

There's nothing wrong with backing it up on the ps3 hdd. You'll be protected from profile corruption either way. The memcard/thumbdrive is in case your ps3 dies (so it's a good idea to make external backups every so often as well as your hdd backups).2011-08-01 08:38:00
