LBP2 General Questions

I just purchased LBP2 and noticed that I could edit my LBP1 level. One thing that I noticed is that it let me use materials and items in the Monster Pack and History Pack that I could not previously use. I could not use them anymore since I downloaded LBP and traded in my disk version which was the GOY edition. I was going to buy those packs so I could fix some problems in my published level, but am wondering if I need to do that now. If I make changes to the level in LBP2 will it still publish as a LBP1 level? Thanks, Commtoad | 2011-07-31 13:26:00 Author: CommToad Posts: 82 |

Levels edited in LBP2 cannot be published as an LBP1 level. Sorry. | 2011-07-31 19:03:00 Author: FlipMeister Posts: 631 |
No biggie with that. Most of my plays have been with LBP1, but I need to redo so much that I'm just going to redesign it in LPB2 and publish it that way. Some of the parts might work better because of the new tools and materials. Turns out that I made so many of the material block so big and complicated that I can't modify them. I just need to delete them and start from almost nothing. The little piece I did this afternoon is so much better than the original. My wife suggested adding spider webs to give it that "unused" look. I found a spider web object and added those with some other item to dress it up a little. Also added a new elevator design that operates with grab switches and stops where I want it to. | 2011-07-31 23:22:00 Author: CommToad Posts: 82 |
I am always encouraged to hear about recreations from LBP1 to LBP2 by the same creator. I miss a lot of great levels by filtering out all LBP1 content while playing LBP2 (the only version I have played for months now) and on top of looking forward to a refined 2.0 version of a level (we're always better the 2nd time we create a machine, if not a work of art, I think, because the focus is so high and the process is known) the fact someone loves a level they made enough to adapt it to new platforms means they're serious about their hobby -- and that makes you an asset to the community! Glad to hear it! | 2011-08-01 02:20:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks for that message. The tools available in LBP2 are so advanced, that I am sure I can make many improvements. Combine that with all of the wonderful feedback I got from other players and it is going to be more like what I imagined it would be. I guess I'll have to sideline my new level for a while. | 2011-08-02 01:15:00 Author: CommToad Posts: 82 |
