A vacation to the Isle of Beh'Ta Created by: Luos_83 & C_Mckamey LBP.Me link: http://lbp.me/v/4bp0x8 Images: http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/f116cda8d9a8aed003791acaf6eaaf75caf01889.jpg http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/499caad163bc7d41221563f32098a8e6315b6042.jpg http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/c1f309c20320b33f75d086f34c64b16107791778.jpg http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/e892aa29ac5f2f3ea2959f6a8bbdac930be506b7.jpg http://i4.lbp.me/img/ft/4245d02293a591b45032aa0aa0ac7163a8944a1d.jpg Story: Intro to the Reh'Tahl series. You planned a vacation to the lovely "Isle of New Beh'Ta" but you got more than you bargained for by a chance encounter with the locals. This is the introductional movie for the "Old Reh'Tahl" series which takes place in the same universe as the "Beh'Ta" levels did in the beta. YT movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGHUsyneejs thanks to the epic chimpanzee! type of level: - Movie level. - Intro to the Reh'Tahl series. Note: After months of hard work, the first few levels of the reh'Tahl series are done and I am publishing the first two. I have been working on Reh'Tahl with C_McKamey for months, occasionally working on other levels like i.e. Shady Functions and FRANTIC. The series will take place in the same universe as "New Beh'Ta" but a lot of time has past since people where able to visit "Beh'Ta" in the Beta. Now in the Retail.. you are able to visit "Reh'Tahl" Each level will look a little different and each level will come with his own gameplay. I tried to focus more on fun gameplay than visuals.. and Imho that worked out just fine. This movie level takes up about 2.5 times the thermo of a level. Emitting/Demitting for the win. Special thanks: C_Mckamey - He did most of the camera and logic work on this intro, he also made a killer bus. O-K-I-N-G-O - He made the boat used in the first scene, I had to redecorate it, and are still trying to find a way to get rid of the little stickerglitch kingo left behind Creator430 - for his seagul and Smart auto.. which sadly didnt make it into the level due to thermo problems. Many testers and friends. Enjoy! Any comments, reviews and head-up's for problems in-game are appreciated! The levels are a big success.. its insane. both have been on cool page no. 1 and 2. spot for a while now, been trending no. 1 till this morning and have an average of 100 people playing them at any time.. When I woke up I had 291 new reviews, over 50 comments and my psn inbox hit the limit (stupid lbp-invites) thank you all | 2011-08-01 14:18:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
well I already left some comments in game, via twitter (bioswoop), and at the planetarium, so I'm going to be a bit lazy and copy and paste here. I played it awhile ago and it is absolutely beautiful. You've done an outstanding job as usual luos. The gameplay is simple, and I don't mean that in a negative way. There's not a lot of puzzles to solve in order to get from point a to b. There were a couple of tricky spots, like the vines to swing on, but that didn't detract from the level. I loved it. I found myself going slow and even just standing still in a few spots to soak in all the visual goodness the level has to offer. I was a bit disappointed when the level ended as I wanted to keep playing this masterpiece. Can't wait for the next chapter. I also loved the opening movie. It was fantastic! Did you make that sky in game? (you already answered that) Loved all the vehicles and the details on them. The Camera work was great as well. Congrats on the success this level is getting Luos. It's awesome! I'm happy for you. | 2011-08-01 14:58:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
YEa, I cant believe it became such a sucess. sadly not much going on around the forums.. and those reviews I appreciate more than the ingame ones. | 2011-08-02 15:03:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
Well, I played through them all. They were all beautiful and pretty enjoyable. I didn't like them as much as Be' Tah, though. Be' Tah was far more beautiful and just more fun to play for me personally. Also, the endings of each level felt far too abrupt and anticlimactic. Other than that, they were great fun. | 2011-08-04 17:18:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

Awesome! Congrats Luos and Clay. A well deserved pick and pin. Should have been picked in LBP1 IMHO, but better late than never. And I just saw you have over 18,000 plays on caverns of Old Reh'Tahl. Awesome! | 2011-08-10 18:15:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |

This level IS really good. It's a good thing it was noticed or it might have fallen into obscurity like mine. | 2011-08-11 18:49:00 Author: Unknown User |
O_O First of all...shame on all the people that disn't wrote in this thread because this level discussion would have deserved to go into Cool Levels in less than a day. Other than that, the series is pretty incredible, visually, logic-wise and gameplay speaking. We all know how Luos is good at making nice things, though Clay's invisible work this time makes the level alive, in an impressive way. You have to go play it and see things in motion to understand. | 2011-08-12 12:14:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
That is a really cool movie you made. It definitely deserved an Mm Pick. VISUALS: The visuals looked fantastic, as it is filled with amazing environment, brilliant layer glitch (especially the sky scenery), and well-accurate camera shots and well-acted sackbots. SOUND: Good music usage. OVERALL: An breathtaking movie that has good story and made players know how did the Isle of Beh'ta series got all started. A yay and heart. Same goes with the other two Beh'ta levels that the level link took players to after watching this level and completing the first part. | 2011-08-13 18:07:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
YEa, I cant believe it became such a sucess. sadly not much going on around the forums.. and those reviews I appreciate more than the ingame ones. Meant to post this ages ago, played thru the lvls in this series and genuinely loved them. The amount of work is jaw dropping! You and hour friend make a great combo and compliment each other very well. Camera being far away all the time was about my only gripe, it does wonders for setting a scene and gives areas a wow factor, but when it's constantly far out it can be a lil annoying. It's a small complaint honestly! It would take too long to list everything I loved in this, but it deserved the MM pick and you guys sure know how to make a lvl! On a side note, played thru some of ur earlier work and actually preferred it! Classic LBP 1 stuff. Rougher around the edges but all the gameplay was present and I look forward to the rest, think I did first few :s (been away awhile). Also some parts bugged, think it was due to lbp2, the first one was during part 1 i think on the skippable clip I floated up but it just stopped, things went dark and I managed to jump out of the cradle and dropped all the way down in the dark and found the skip button to go on! Also part 3 you come across a door which says something like it's permanently locked (wasted 5 mins running back and forth there!!), logged into lbp1 to see if it was something I couldn't see as it was very dark in lbp2, as it turns out it was a silly bug, the platform just dropped down allowing me continue :s just thought I'd let you know! So gz again on the pick. Brilliant stuff, awesome visuals and I'm a fan! | 2011-08-27 16:08:00 Author: Masseyf Posts: 226 |
