Post a picture of your pet(s)!

Archive: 43 posts

I will every now and then stop by the oh-so-wonderful community that is known to be as LBPCentral, and bring back some idea's to potentially... Say bring a bit more life into the General Chat. So, here it is, a pet thread! Descriptions would suffice, but pictures would be even better. I'll start off.

Not too long ago, I picked up my little girl. She's a 2 month old Siberian Husky by the name of Luna. She is my pride and joy, and I absolutely love coming home and seeing her freak out after a few hours of being left alone... Poor thing. <3

This is my oldest pet, Fox:

http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu78/SnipySev/Pets/DSC02316.jpg

A Fila of S?o Miguel, 4 years old. He's strong and wild as hell. When we let him loose, he just bolts off in the distance and returns panting an hour later.

My cat, Jace. He's about three years old now.

http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu78/SnipySev/Pets/DSC02317.jpg

He's kind of bipolar, alternating between a feline predator wannabe that might jump at you and scratch your arm at any time you want to pet it, and a lazy ball of fur that sleeps for hours. He lost his right eyesight, probably while fighting another cat, but he remains as much of an antisocial as he has ever been. He doesn't care about you. He doesn't care If you want to hold him or pet him. He does whatever the hell he wants. Unless he wants to be fed. He turns surprisingly friendly those times.

This one's Dobby:

http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu78/SnipySev/Pets/DSC02544.jpg

She's small, about 40 cm height (2 feet? I don't know). She was abandoned in the street near my house almost 3 years ago, and my ******* of a neighbor kicked her and threw stones at her. My mother took pity and brought her the rests of food we had whenever possible. At one point the poor animal was in such a bad shape from famine and mistreating (even started to lose fur) my mom couldn't resist and decided to keep her with us. She's hiperactive and freaking fast, also the smartest of my pets. She shows up with dead birds and rabbits sometimes so I guess she's kind of a hunting dog. She has a knack for opening holes under the chainlink fences, so whenever she's running loose I've got to keep the bigger dogs on their chains.

This is Blake:

http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu78/SnipySev/Pets/DSC02552.jpg

He's a Serra da Estrela, a little bigger than Fox but not as strong. He's about 1 and a half years old, we brought him from a shelter in February. He's calm and friendlier with strangers, but not really smart. And not really nimble, when he runs towards something, it will end in a crash.

And finally, Sasha:

http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu78/SnipySev/Pets/DSC02551.jpg

The new kid, a german shepherd. She's about two months old and very clingy. The first few days we couldn't leave her alone without an orquestra of desperate high pitched barks following afterwards. And wherever she was, she always crawled under a bench or table. A few days later of getting used to the house and fellow pets, she thinks she owns everything. The cat couldn't care less about her and the other dogs are always ready to straighten her out though

Edit: Caught this pic right now. Fox, Dobby and Sasha chillin' out in the shade:

@SnipeySev : Aaaww... That German Shepard looks absolutely adorable. And yeaah, I feel your pain, haha. Siberian Huskies are a... How you say... They like to talk. A lot. It's one of their main characteristics. They'll whine for about hours until they get what the want, and the sound is just heart-breaking. But only thing we can do is ignore it, because if we don't, she'll continuously whine until she get what she wants, and that's a big no-no.

And well, here's more photo's of Luna! This time, it's hi-res shots.

My dog, Maggie, the stupidest thing ever. She demands you stroke her all the time and nudges you and stuff until you do. And she sleeps on my bed all day, she probably uses it more than I do. She's a blue roan English Cocker Spaniel.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4008/4242010984_1620e639d5.jpg
My cat, Bella. I'd say more about her, but I never see her, she seems to think we're like a hotel, she comes for food and sleep and that's it. She's an RSPCA rescue cat, not any kind of breed but a mixture of lots.

EDIT: Pictures are quite big, sorry.

Lol, I like Pugs, I always wanted one, but never had a chance to get one
Also, one thing I've always wanted to ask someone that owns a snake...
Why do you want a snake? You can't pet it and hold it... Well, you can, but it's wet and slimy and nasty And my biggest question, why doesn't it not bite you? It's still a snake

I've held a 30 foot snake around my neck and it didn't attempt to kill me. You can tame them you know.

EDIT: And if you've ever had the chance to feel one, their skin is silky smooth and perfectly dry.

Lol, good to hear
You can tame them? I thought since they're wild animals, it was kinda impossible and they could strike anytime
But every animal deserves a chance

lol "slimy", that's a word I hear a lot, not sure why. They're very smooth, and less smelly than dogs

Snakes aren't as wild a most people think. The chance you'll get bitten is very low - on a comparable scale with certain dogs. Fluffy is a constrictor, so he isn't venomous, and he's naturally docile to humans. A big snake has the size to give you that 'friend' feeling but its cage makes it less stressful on a moment to moment basis than dogs, per se. They're smart; they can recognize you and push on the cage when they want exercise.

Lol, when someone has never held a snake, slimy is the first thing they imagine
Well, other people may like snakes, but if a day comes and I see a snake in a cage in the house, I'm gonna release it into the wild
Snakes and animals like that scare me

Surprisingly, snakes and similar animals have dry and soft skin. Have you ever held a toad? Their skin is dry (when they're far from water) and their stomach is soooo soft. http://a2.twimg.com/profile_images/1230054273/me-gusta_normal.png

I was there when they were born. After seeing him we decided to take his brother too. Didn't bring them home until 4-6 months old so they could bond and learn from they're mum and other siblings. But I don't have any other pictures to hand at the moment. Sorry about the quality it's from an old mobile phone camera which isn't great.
