Abstergo Animus Training (LBPC2) (2-4P)

Archive: 19 posts

Hey there! This is my entry for the LBP2 Multiplayer Mayhem creation contest This is the menu screen in which you can watch the instructions, or select a map to play on. I have put all my skill and determination in to making detailed, large, and above all fun in to these maps. You can enjoy this game with 2-4 players. The more the merrier! So grab a friend or 3 and see who can be the best assassin

I will do F4F for anyone who I feel put an honest effort in to both playing and giving feedback. Have fun!

It's finally done! I've been play-testing this level and it is one of the best level I've seen in a while. I was having fun even after playing it more than 10 times!
You did a really good job on the menu and making it accurate to the real game. The gameplay feels nice and smooth, the levels are well designed and the logic being the whole thing is amazing!
Great level overall 'd and a lovely <3

What a great concept. I got a group of 4 friends to play this and it was very fun. Visually it is top notch, and the gameplay is pretty good. A couple things that could be improved are: Sometimes we accidentally forget to be an assassin, which is bad with 2 to 3 players, cuz the game is pointless with no assassin. I would make it required to have one. Second, it would be cool to give the assassin a climbing ability, slower than the hook that pulls you up, but to make it more like the game. It would also be cool to give the other players a disguise ability or cloaking ability that turns off the assassin's arrow for them for a few seconds.

Anyways, the menu was AMAZING. I absolutely loved it. This level deserves more plays for sure, from me.

Hey, thanks for playing! I sort of foresaw the no assassin problem, just forgot to fix it XD I really want to put some more abilities in but the thermo has been fighting me the entire way. Thanks for review. I'll see what i can do before the deadline.2011-07-31 05:53:00

Just finished playing this and I have to say I liked it quite a bit! I liked how the cutscene changed and some very nice visuals in my opinion! The pipes running through the x ray glass was a very nice touch I must say myself very enjoyable. The music I thought was cool the way it changed and developed and wasn't just the same thing over and over2011-08-01 13:03:00

compared to the real multiplayer, it isn't as complex, but certainly less frustrating. It's great fun with 4 people and mics as I found out last night. Went 13 rounds with chump, joey, and oeb. Hoping everyone else is having as much fun with it too.2011-08-01 20:32:00

I had a little look at your level though unfortunately, I was by myself so I couldn't get the full experience but if the game is half as good that awesome animated "spine thing" at the start on the left hand side and how it looks in the pictures and sounds by the explanation. I'm sure it will be an awesome level! When I get time to play with friends I'll update this. I must give you a few suggestions, the start is long and not skippable it seems which may make repeated plays annoying frustrating having to wait everytime so I'd suggest making it skipabble for people who already know the instructions. Also, and this is too late but may be useful next time you make a versus level; having a link in a versus level is a bad idea as not only do they take long but they are known to drop and kick players which may be a big hindrance to a multiplayer level. But othet than that, it looks and sounds great for the explanations and pictures so well done!2011-08-03 06:03:00

Yea, links can be a problem, but they are necessary. Can't fit both maps in one level . As for instructions, they can be skipped, just move the analog stick to another selection.2011-08-03 06:10:00

Tried this with a couple friends, the level was built well and had nice design and visuals. Although is wasn't very clear what to do when playing it, me and my friends were just looking at each other lol. Might give it another shot tho.2011-08-03 11:21:00

Played it several times and was impressed.

I remember people saying we werent breaking boundaries in this game. However I consider this a lie, especially after this level. Not only is it designed to the point that you wish you were there but it uses the online separate cameras effectively. I suppose you could say this is a hide and seek level but with an assasins creed theme but it certainly feel different than a Hide and Seek level. The use of the spikes on some sort of rotating material behind a silhouette. It looks like AC and feels like it. Good job there.

However I found myself stuck at the bounce pads. I only realised I had to interact with them the second time I played it, why? Because the instructions were a little difficult to see. I found my self trying to figure out what button to press to get into the acctual game.

I conclude. This level is obviously something to be proud of. With a tweak here and there it could make the gameplay more fun. 8/10.

It looks really great but imo you count make longer game play to fully enojy it and it takes too much time to resrt match (could be reduced by detecting if all players choose there animus2011-08-08 16:41:00

Thanks for the honest review! it definitely needs more tweaks. The story goes not too much unlike the tortoise and the hare, I had made those maps in a matter of 2-3 days each. My pace was so fast and efficient that I got lazy until the last couple days of the month. I ended up having to just suffice with 2 maps. I polished them up as much as I could and tried to test them but testing a multilayer free roam is tricky. It was only after the deadline did most of the problems arise. I am still very happy with what I have created and would definitely say its my favorite creation to date. Even got a mention in the spotlight It's these reviews and little achievements that reassure me of my progress and inspire me to keep creating.

I played this and thought it was very good. good visuals, gave you the feeling you really were being hunted, and i enjoy this sort of concept. however i would change the long loading time in the lobby, and also make it so that once the hunted enters the screen, the arrows disappear, giving the hunted a chance to disappear amongst the crowd. lastly, you might wanna make the name something easier to remember but thats your opinion. mind checking out my control terrible oni lvl? ty2011-08-09 22:12:00

Allow me to preface any criticism I offer with the following: This level was fun. That alone makes it fantastic. Not a lot of things in LBP are legitimately fun! Cool, maybe. But rarely fun.

Now,

+ The level was very well designed visually. From the second I loaded it up me and my pal were marveling at the little visual flourishes of the animus. I remember thinking to myself upon first using the holographic material how well it was suited to making futuristic interfaces similar to the Animus. And you knocked it out of the park.

+ You really made it feel like Assassin's Creed. I detest levels where someone takes a picture of marcus fenix with their PSEye, slaps it on some cardboard, and calls it a Gears of War level. Someone else made a level that had Ezio moving through a crowd of sack bots but didn't really do anything with it, so i was glad to see you set phenomenal game play to the well designed locales

+ Great versus gameplay. You know your level's good when me and my friends are cursing at each other for stabbing each other instead of cursing at how frustrating the level is.

- The triangle makes it too easy. It would be even greater if the player on the run wasn't screwed as soon as the Assassin comes onscreen.

- If the Assassin makes the wrong choice and kills someone who isn't a target there should either be a point penalty or an automatic win for the targets. If you already have something like this in place, well then I apologize

All in all, great level, and 'd love to see more.

(My level is in my sig)

Oh! Every time I think this thread has sunken out of the public eye, someone comes back with a review Triangle has been a pretty big complaint lately, I will more than likely remove it once the competition is over and I am permitted to do so. Thanks for playing and coming back an honest review! I'm glad to see people are getting this amount of enjoyment out of this level :}

EDIT: Oh and I'll get to the F4Fs later today.
