Afraid Of Monster - Hospital PSN: Kirkj First off, this level is not for young players, and the sequel even less so. Afraid of Monster- Hospital is probably one of the best "horror" levels I've come across in LBP, thus the PG13 rating. The story begins in a hospital, a place where your sackboy/girl has been getting mysterious pain killers for who knows how long. Upon arriving, it is clear that this hospital is more like a mortuary, with ghosts and ghouls waiting to make you their next victim. 3/5 ---> Appearance- The author uses a completely dark atmosphere, so that u rely on the little amount of lighting that is provided. Occasionally you are given a flashlight, but more than often you are wandering in the darkness of the hospital trying to escape. The overall look really isn't anything special when it comes down to it though. Aside from some stomach-curdling corpses there is nothing truly original about the appearance, but the author does a good job of making the level easily navigatable (sp?). 7/10 ---> Gameplay- Well there really isn't any platforming when it comes down to it with this level. The level is there to scare the living crap out of you, and I commend the author for this, because he does a really good job. There isn't music (except near the end), yet the constant scary noises (mysterious knockings, babies crying, woman screaming) at every turn keep you on your toes. The monsters themselves are pretty simple, as they are sackboy cutouts with some green gas. I thought the author could have done better here to make the level more "his". To sum it up: not spectacular, but effective. 4/5---> Replay Value- Definitely worth another play. This is probably one of the levels I would show my buddies when first introducing LBP, simply to get them emotionally involved in order to spark their interest. Definite replay value here. Overall Score: 14/20 A pretty well thought out level that definitely gets the blood boilin. Well done! A review on the sequel will be seen later this week!
