I need to apologize to the lbpc community. This morning when I logged on I had a notification from the mods that I had received an infraction and would be silenced for 45 days. I was heartbroken and extremely upset. I love this community too much to do anything to jeopardize it. "How could this happen," I thought. What did I do? Schm0 said that I had posted inappropriate content. What!? Me!? I went to the thread in question and remembered posting an image of Evel Knievel toys. Morgana had already removed the image (thank God, you'll see why in a minute). What's inappropriate about Evel Knievel toys, I asked Schm0. He informed me that it was the most vulgar thing he'd seen on the site. I...I...I...What!? I informed him that I did not post any vulgar images and that I had previewed my post beforehand and it was fine. It was a picture of toys. I gave him my sources where I found the image (google images) and what exactly the picture was. He said he'd investigate. Sorry for being long winded. wrapping up, I promise. I waited all day, checking back periodically for any new messages from Schm0 and my status within the community. I received a message this evening that the infraction had been lifted. "Oh thank goodness" I thought. A huge weight had been lifted. Schmo investigated and let me know that by following the link all the way to the source, reveals a vulgar image. Now I have not seen the image myself, nor do I want to. He said that google's image cache originally pulled the evil kneival toy image, stored it, and it has since been modified using the same file name. I had no idea, as I had not followed the link to the source. So, I want to apologize to anyone who saw the image. I in no way whatsoever meant any harm. Please don't think that that is who I am or how this site is. I also want to say another huge thanks to Schm0. You listened and investigated and that tells me a lot, and I can't thank you enough. -Biorogue-

Don't worry about it! It's quite reassuring to see (although we already knew it!) that our site has such friendly mods that are willing to investigate your case, I'd imagine most other sites' mods would simply ban you then forget about you, even if it wasn't your fault at all, as was the case here. We love you mods! <3

I learned my lesson on curiosity with the 2 girls 1 cup fiasco. I still wake up in the middle of the night with trembles over that one.

I saw it. I was the one that reported the post. It was absolutely disgusting. It's up there with the posts Macnme gave. Fortunately for me, (if you can call it that) I had already seen the picture 6-7 years ago so the shock wasn't there. It is quite disturbing and I wouldn't want anyone to have to see it. It's gross. Like real gross. Oh and kudos to the mods. I knew you wouldn't post such a thing and by the looks of your post in question, you had no idea that picture was posted.

Thanks, Biorogue... to tell you all a bit of backstory, I initially came across this at work of all places, and imagine my surprise when I'm scrolling through the reported posts at 8 AM and up pops the aforementioned image. Let's just say I lost my breath for a bit. That's the type of image that'd get you fired faster than you could finish the letter "f". I had to infract initially, as everything was immediately suspicious: an otherwise upstanding member posting vulgar images in a post about childrens toys? If someone had hacked his account, I didn't want them to be able to post further. Being at work, I was unable to continue the investigation. What to do? Fortunately, everything worked out in the end. I'll share some technical gibberish here that Aya posted that some of you may find interesting: Every time your browser requests an image, it passes on the URL of the page the image is used in, and this site returns a different image if the referring site isn't on an approved list of sites. I tested it with a Unix program called "wget" which lets you fake the referring URL. When sending a referrer from the same site, it returns the correct 22K image...but with a referring URL from almost anywhere else, it returns a different 121K image... It's quite common for websites to do this sort of thing to prevent other sites stealing their bandwidth, but they'd more likely just return a 404. The reason biorogue wouldn't have noticed is that the server isn't sending the correct "Vary" header to the browser, so he would've seen the correct version served from his browser cache until he did a hard refresh on the page. Everyone else, of course, would've seen the incorrect version immediately, unless they had already visited the site it came from, which seems pretty unlikely. Oddly enough, www.google.com (http://www.google.com/) seems to be on the authorized site list, so they might not see it. So in other words, the lesson learned should be this: if posting images here, host them yourself. If you can't or don't know how to do that, make sure they're from a reputable source. And Bio, no need to apologize. If anyone, that should be me. Sorry for not being able to investigate or act quicker! Edit: Also, thanks should be due to Morgana for catching the image and deleting it from the post, and Aya for doing the technical investigation!
