Epic Maze
Archive: 13 posts
I made this level in 6 hours non-stop. Just the maze and I added Red VR metal to show dead ends just earlier. Also, I added a photo booth that rains some score bubbles at the end. It shows the map of the WHOLE maze with the solution in red. It's kinda blurry, but I think that's for the best so the maze couldn't be passed around and easily figured out. The trick to it is to follow the score bubbles. If you don't see the score bubbles for a while, YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!!! Please any feedback, constuctive critisizm is welcome. If the maze is too hard to see I can change the material. I'm going to add some dangerous lasers activated by a "give up" switch as well. Then I think I'll be done. The ICON of the level is the theme of the maze. Also, there are prizes at the end! http://lbp.me/v/31gs7s | 2011-07-27 22:31:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hi, just played your level and its definitely an epic maze! I didn't however complete it, may have helped to read your description about the score bubbles first! Things you could do... - what I find frustrating about these levels is retracing my steps, you could have a system where you could drop a limited number of flares to help you out by showing junctions you have already explored - widen the camera angle a little to show more of the maze as you float along - hints Just a few ideas to think about For F4F please could you play my snake level https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=60164-Snake-v0.1 Thanks | 2011-07-27 23:01:00 Author: turnipeater Posts: 83 |
I just looked at your level. Unfortunately I can't play it because I don't own LBP2. I got the first GOTY edition. If you have any LBP1 levels I'll be happy to try em out. I'm sick and tired of copies. [EDIT]Btw, thanks about the flares. I thought about lasers too. I'll think of something. That's why it's not v1.0 just yet. Just looked at your profile on LBP.me, I'm gonna check out "Snowman's land" and "Volcano Survival" | 2011-07-27 23:35:00 Author: Unknown User |
I got to try this maze level, and indeed, it felt like a huge maze. I played it twice as I got lost in my first try when I thought I could just fumble my way through. In my second try, I followed the hint about the score bubbles and found my way out. I say it was a good run, but I have some minor suggestions though: -the dark matter in the beginning was visible -could you try making the score bubbles more consistent? by this i mean making them a straight line because it seems more neat If you got the time, would you mind trying out and leaving a feedback on my level? Here it is: Title: Sinner's Redemption Thread: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=60154-Sinner-s-Redemption LinK: http://lbp.me/v/3hcswv (http://lbp.me/v/3hcswv) Thanks for your time. | 2011-07-28 00:05:00 Author: romancrisis Posts: 138 |
Ah a maze! Definitely giving this one a try, very few mazes can contain me Queued! If you have the time to check out a short story-intro level, I'd appreciate any feedback! Link is in my signature, thanks! | 2011-07-28 00:31:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'll be sure to check those levels out! If the dark matter was visible, you might've played LBP2. In LBP1 it's not visible. Also, i thought of putting more score bubbles, but I don't want to make it that easy. I'm gonna use the other guys suggestion about using markers showing previously visited locations. The thermometer is almost full though so I'll see what I can do. | 2011-07-28 01:59:00 Author: Unknown User |
Lol, I just published a maze level 2 minutes ago for the crown contest. Mine doesn't have much of an exit though . Anyways, I've queued it and I'll check it out soon. | 2011-07-28 02:08:00 Author: Joey9898 Posts: 131 |
A lengthy maze with a moderate level of difficulty. The score bubbles definitely help and guide along the way, but it's definitely doable within the time constraints. Nice work. | 2011-07-28 17:28:00 Author: Unknown User |
I played this today and have to agree with turnipeater. I really enjoy mazes, and had a great time trying to find my way out. I didn't make it out before the timer expired, but that didn't change how much fun I had. I read your clues before playing and really appreciated the red boxes that showed the dead ends. The score bubbles were just enough to help me without giving the path away. The only problem I saw was that when I was up against the right-hand wall, it disappeared and I could see the background that is outside the maze. That is the only suggestion I have for changes to this. When you get a change, please give my level a try, http://lbp.me/v/z5y83j (Are we there Yeti?) | 2011-07-28 23:39:00 Author: CommToad Posts: 82 |
I agree with the above post about the backgrounds of the maze, maybe add a single layer behind it of a material so that doesn't happen. | 2011-07-28 23:48:00 Author: Unknown User |
I know what you guys mean, I think it's the 3D object glitch. I've been working on putting markers in as you pass through regardless if you're going the right way or not, but they are color coded as a guide as well. I've queued up your level. Can't do the dwarven mines unfortunately I don't own lBP2 | 2011-07-29 09:10:00 Author: Unknown User |
I was really cool, It was a good thing I took a look at this thread before playing the level, well you could include the bubbles tip in game, like instructions before you begin. Fortunately I finished it in the 1st attempt, didn't notice any problem, maybe you could put some more bubbles, not a lot more that it's too easy, and instead of them just being like thrown there, you could glue them to the background in a straight line, that way it would make the level much more appealing. Oh and when you go to the far right, you can see through the walls and see outside the maze, not much of a problem to change but it would also make it more appealing if you couldn't see outside the maze. Lol, I just noticed everything I said was already here, Sorry for not contributing much but those were the only cons I noticed | 2011-07-30 03:56:00 Author: Unknown User |
It's good that everyone says the same thing, but that's ok. That's why it's a WIP. I found a way and I'll be puttin in colored lasers instead of extra score bubbles to help you if you're going the wrong way. Thanks for the feedback, I"m in the process of updating it all the way now! Hopefully after the lazers it can be v1.0. | 2011-08-04 09:00:00 Author: Unknown User |
