I think it is because of overlord. But lets not bring that up.2011-07-27 13:58:00

Spaff and Tom tend to be the ones that usually Mm pick levels, and neither of them have played LBP2 for a month. I suppose they're busy or something.2011-07-27 14:12:00

On a very long vacation I might guess...

I'm guessing the pickers are on vacation. It doesn't bother me, I mean it isn't an necessity to play/find a good level. 2011-07-27 15:52:00

Don't know who there favorites are, but it is safe to assume they all have a MM Pick by now.

Hmmm, maybe they were being literal when they said they were stepping away from LBP.

He just means that there are certain creators who seem to be the "favorites" who get picked all the time. It's probably true to some extent--normally I'm really picky about which levels I'll try (they need to look/sound like they're gonna' be impressive) but when I see a level released by somebody who's made amazing levels in the past, I'll check it out even if it normally wouldn't grab my attention, so you could say I have "favorite" creators. I imagine Spaff and Tom do that to some extent as well--it's not as if they're deliberately showing favoritism, but there are way more levels than they have time for so they have to be selective, and they know that JackofCourse's next level has a better chance of being amazing than "creator they've never heard of."

Another thing to consider is that they have lives and jobs. I really don't know what their jobs entail, but I'm sure it isn't exclusively to play and pick levels.

If you want more picks then check out LBPC's own "Community Spotlight." A lot of the stuff they pick isn't always particularly to my tastes (the same could be said of Mm picks) but, for the most part, they pick some pretty good levels.

I've heard noobs that believe mm quit after somebody 'said something mean'....Ah, so naive. So spaff and Tom have quit for being bullied by numpties....2011-07-27 21:09:00

The only thing that bothers me an=bout this is that everytime i go to communiity, I see MM picks glowing, so I click on it hoping for a new MM pick but it's still the Watchmen movie. So i haven't been on the MM picks page since unless I'm looking for a certain level.2011-07-27 21:53:00

I was going to make a post about this. What's strange is that it says 8 new MM picks.... some weird bug there.

Actually it says that if you haven't yet played 8 in this case of the levels. So until you go through and play all those levels you haven't yet, that annoying message remains.

Ever notice that Spaff seems to have better tastes O.o lol Personally I think its kind of ridiculous that they dont have others picking levels... I mean there are tons of people that would kill for an oppurtunity to contribute to Mm and not even be hired! Also... Mm doesnt even seem to be a part of the community with us They are just some shadowy figures that occasionally patch the game and add DLC while the community rots... Notice the lack of Mm picks.. lack of DLC and increase in spammers and the cool pages are getting worse/staying bad... also I wish they paid attention to the creators they pick.. Or had a special pin for people that contribute to the community.. If you look at several Mm picks reviews.. that are bad or non existant or look at their hearted creators and levels to see hardly anything... It makes me so sick! While theres several other creatoes with just as good levels that give great feedback, heart and yay a ton of levels and people and are overall nice.. and these creators get no attention.. burns me up.2011-07-28 03:46:00

I disagree with almost everything you've written...get over it, it's a silly game; and clearly Tom_Molecule has the more refined palette for levels (now I wonder why I would say that?).

Maybe I'm stupid, or just tired, but it seems that you're implying that you are in fact Tom. Probably just tired, but still.

Assuming you are Tom, disagreeing with him doesn't fix the problem. The sad truth is that Dortr right. You guys (assuming you're Tom, once again...) have pretty much left us in the dust. The lack of Mm picks and really any support at all right now really has us feeling kind of betrayed. From what I read, you guys aren't even the ones pumping out DLC. If you're making a new game, then that's fine, but I suggest setting a few people aside to support all of us. Your fanbase.

This feels like Left 4 Dead all over again. Valve said that we shouldn't worry, and ripped apart a strong community in the first game to develop a second game. The second game is much better, yes, but the community is rotting, barely surviving by being drip-fed DLC every now and then.

It really can't be that hard for one of you guys to sit down AT THE VERY LEAST once a week and pick a level that you think is deserving. If that's too much to ask, then fine, but please don't shove off ideas of other more dedicated people doing this, and say it's just a silly game.

I'm running on about 24 minutes of sleep in the past 3 days, so feel free to laugh at me if this guy is obviously not Tom.

If he is, though, I think he should be ashamed that he posted what he did. You have a fanbase, listen to them. Don't disagree with them and say it's a silly game.

K done.

I heard a MM thing somewhere say they are moving on from everything LittleBigPlanet, and are making a different game.

They made a big mistake saying that...

Several studios have had incredible success by making a new game/series. I can't name them off the top of my head, but I'm fairly certain UC is one. CCP is also going from EVE: Online to an FPS, Dust 514. The same reaction has been made on the EVE forums, but I am almost completely certain that it'll be one of the greatest games of next year, if not the entire decade.

I'm looking forward to see what MM makes. They were plagued by the backwards compatibility in LBP2, perhaps a new IP is just what they need to put together some awesome new ideas and blow us away (again).

EDIT: On-topic... If they're not playing levels, they're busy doing something else. I think they deserve the break. Personally, I think the LBP community expects too much of MM. Hosting the servers for 5,000,000 levels and ~15000 players on average....and they're not making any money directly off that. Let them have a vacation for once.

Err, no. Tom picked my level (BloodStone Saga: Part 1), Spaff hasn't even played it that's all.

As for DLC...the game hasn't even been out that long...there's a substantial create DLC pack on the horizon...and there was a ton of new stuff since LBP1 to play with. I'm disappointed with MM that we haven't had more bug fix patches...but the DLC thing has been fine.

As for MM picks, people just expect too much from it and think it is something that it's not.

XD Elvenbane you told me yourself you didnt even want the Mm pick.. and did I say ALL of his picks were bad? No. Matter of fact a few on them are awesome.. I just noticed that Toms werent as "wow" as Spaffs. I also didn't say Bloodstone saga didnt deserve one.. but there should be more secret pins for specific things such as beautiful levels which Bloodstone Saga definately does deserve.2011-07-28 16:05:00

After they said they were looking for new ideas outside LBP, they assured us that they wouldn't completely leave us and there were no reasons to get worried.

Though after a few weeks of the Overlord ruining the scoreboards, what seems like ages without any MM Picks, and no updates actually improving the games, I do think there's a reason to worry, may this be related with the "MM stepping away from LBP" topic or not. They could visit the Suggestions section of this or another forum and see how it's packed full of excellent idead they could implement to extend the game's online value. They could give us a sign of life, get into Twitter and tweet something about how they're dealing with these matters instead of making us know they're having a nice team lunch. now I'm hungry, thank you MM.

Will it bring an useful update though? Also, the Move pack comes out in September, if some of the hypothetical improvements in that update is needed to solve current problems then it could be released separately, in a smaller update.

Yes, they NEED to fix as many bugs as fast as possible, but while actually patching it. Not like overlord.
