How to make Sackbot automatic slap sensor
Archive: 10 posts
Hey guys it's zzmorg82 here with our 3rd tutorial, how to make a sackbot automatic slap sensor. So when you get too close....SLAP!!!! Across your soft fluffy face ![]() But before we start, pause the game and set you Angle Snap to "45" degrees. Your going to need it ![]() Step 1: Setup a sackbot with a controllinator. Open the controllinator and place two microchips. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35751&d=1311718631 Step 2: Open the left microchip first and place 3 player sensors(stacked) on it. Color the second sensor orange, and the third sensor red. Capture the 3 sensor and turn them 45 degrees LEFT!!! :star: Tweak each player sensor to these settings: Green player sensor: Mimnimum Detection Range: 0.0 Maximum Detection Range: 25.0 Trigger Angle Range: 180 Same Layer: X(No) Number of Players Required: 1 Require All Players: No Invert Output: No Electronics and Cable Visibility: Switch Visible Orange player sensor: Mimnimum Detection Range: 0.0 Maximum Detection Range: 12.0 Trigger Angle Range: 180 Same Layer: Yes Number of Players Required: 1 Require All Players: No Invert Output: No Electronics and Cable Visibility: Switch Visible Red player sensor: Mimnimum Detection Range: 0.0 Maximum Detection Range: 8.5 Trigger Angle Range: 180 Same Layer: Yes Number of Players Required: 1 Require All Players: No Invert Output: No Electronics and Cable Visibility: Switch Visible http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35752&d=1311718633 Step 3: After you tweaked all 3 Player sensors, pull out an selector and tweak it to these settings: Number of Ports: 3 Current State: 1 Invert Output: No Electronics and Cable Visibility: Switch Visible After you tweaked the selector to those settings, connect the Green player sensor to the 1st port of the selector, Orange to the 2nd port, and Red to the 3rd port. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35754&d=1311718635 Step 4: Pull out Direction Combiner and connect the selector 2nd port output to the positive(+) input and connect the 3rd port output to the negative(-) input http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35755&d=1311718636 Step 5: Connect the Direction Combiner output into both the L-Stick input AND L2 input http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35756&d=1311718637 Step 6: Now that we are done with the left side slap, let's do the right side slap. So copy ALL the logic on the left microchip and place the copy on the right microchip. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35758&d=1311718639 Step 7: Take the 3 player sensors on the right microchip and turn them "45" degrees right. NOTE: Be sure to do them one-by-one. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35749&d=1311718629 Step 8: Delete the connection from the 3 port selector to the Direction Combiner and connect the 2nd port output into the negative(-) input, and connect the 3rd port output into the positive(+) input. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35759&d=1311718640 Step 9: Connect the Direction Combiner output in both the R-Stick AND R2 input http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35753&d=1311718634 This is what it should look like when your done: http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35750&d=1311718630 Now when you get too close, you'll get SLAP!!! ![]() | 2011-07-27 00:15:00 Author: zzmorg82 ![]() Posts: 948 |
Cool! I've made one before for a project (Uncharted 3 Co-op arena from the beta) that i'm working so that there aren't any sackpeople overlapping. mines a little differnt though. It's nice to see that there are multiple ways ![]() | 2011-07-27 05:03:00 Author: LBP2_Tutorialist ![]() Posts: 225 |

This is the best way but the simplesist can sometimes be good too. I have used this, but before I knew anything about real logic, I used two motion sensors, and two sackbot brainchips, set to slap with recording when the player got to close, then set up inverted metion sensors, and idle brainchips for when the player is slapped. Youyr way is much better though, nice tutorial. | 2011-07-27 14:31:00 Author: temple1997 ![]() Posts: 36 |
For some reason, i can't get the right side to work :/ | 2011-08-01 01:35:00 Author: PetStars ![]() Posts: 91 |
I found an easier way ![]() | 2011-08-01 04:48:00 Author: SackBoy98 ![]() Posts: 588 |
At first I though it was a slap sensor (Senses when it is slapped). I always just used two player sensors set to 180, some behavior chips, and a few "Not" gates. I'll try it out. | 2011-08-01 04:55:00 Author: Sackpapoi ![]() Posts: 1195 |
For some reason, i can't get the right side to work :/ Read Step 8 CAREFULLY, and look at the picture CAREFULLY!!! | 2011-08-01 21:31:00 Author: zzmorg82 ![]() Posts: 948 |
You might want to change the title as this is not a slap sensor, that would be a chip that recognises or senses when the host object is slapped, whereas this is sackbot slap logic. | 2011-08-02 08:13:00 Author: croissantbuncake ![]() Posts: 572 |

Nah, slap sensor is a good name for it if you think about it... | 2011-08-02 14:39:00 Author: zzmorg82 ![]() Posts: 948 |
