Make drawing possible

Does anyone know of a way to be able to draw lines in a level, E.G Draw a route on a map for a sackbot to take? It would be a really good tool to use in game.2011-07-26 20:58:00

You could have the "cursor" or whatever you plan to draw with emit a trail of tags on invisible holo that the sackbot can follow... sounds good in my head. It would also depend on if the game is side scrolling or top down.2011-07-26 21:09:00

You could place a bunch of tags as route markers, then on the sackbot rig up a selector with followers and tag sensors so it moves to each marker in turn.

Edit: If you meant a line drawn by the player rather than drawn by you, then disregard.

Just realised one of the problems, if I were to make a hologram with tags on it then there needs to be a way to disable the tag that the sackbot goes past so that the sackbot would go to the next tag along... I guess if I put, on the sackbots circuit board, a selector that would move down a list of tags to follow. That could work right?2011-07-26 21:48:00

like they did in bang for buck part 2 in story mode, they had a bunch of sackbots that would follow the tag on "Lucias Lucy" and whenever you pulled a different switch to a different lucy, they previous lucy would catch on fire and sinse the sackbot's option is set to "afraid of danger," the sackbot would run away from it and it would follow the new "Lucias Lucy."

What I was thinking is the tag would be destroyed once the sackbot gets right on top of it. Then I guess a selector to switch between different followers...? Something similar to evret's rewind sackbot, but in reverse. Could be tedious though because you would have to use different labeled tags. You may have to limit the amount of time they can "draw".2011-07-26 22:04:00
