Question o' Questions

Question #1: I need two emitters to line up with the scene to make it look like the character is dropping what it is holding any ideas?
Question #2: I need some sort of grass material/ object/ decoration

Question #3: I need to simulate the wind picking up a sack bot, and blowing it away.

Any suggestions are appreciated

Each of these can be solved with a bit of diligent planning (EDIT: and more logic).

1) Dropping Objects (most complicated for description)
If you're doing a movie scene, I recommend a cutaway scene using Sackbot(s). Animate the Sackbot(s) with NO objects in his hands. Fix the objects in front of the hands using very small pieces of Dark Material. Put a Timer + Destroyer on the Dark Material. Start the scene, cutting from the Player (holding the objects) to the Sackbot. At this moment, the Dark Material is destroyed, and the seemingly held objects fall to the ground. End scene. (While this scene is playing, you can use logic to destroy the currently-held objects in the Player hands, and emit two objects on the ground.)

2) Grass
There's a nice astroturf material from LBP1, but I haven't found anything that works as well as just cutting out little 2D grass and bushes and dropping them around the scene.

3) Blown Away Sackbot
Again I'd do a movie scene. Place your Sackbot and set up an invisible "cage" around it using Rubber (do you know the technique to create invisible material?). You have a few options now: attach a chain and have it pull up and away, use a combination of movers and rotators, or make another invisible object collide with the cage to kick it into the air. Use a Gravity Tweaker for particularly turbulent action to make it seem slower and floaty (like wind). You can also animate the Sackbot running against the side of the invisible Rubber while it goes in the other direction, so it looks like he's running against the wind and losing. Add sound effects, and you should have a nice effect!

Sorry to only be able to offer descriptions. These are how I would achieve the above scenes. Good luck!

It of course depends on the style you're going for, but for one of my levels I used basic sponge and covered it in the green paint slodge sticker to get something resembling grass.2011-07-25 14:17:00

Hmm seems lke I've got to bust out LBP1 for the grass. The issue with the dropped object is that it is a costume piece. (The sack-puppet) I was going to try emit the sackbot without it, but I can't get the emitters to line up properly. I'll try that cage idea thanks 2011-07-25 15:35:00

Teddy bear pieces have a nice grass-like texture on the edges which look good painted green.2011-07-25 15:43:00

For grass, you can also use the Dark Brown Fur or the Black Fur decorations from the Avalonia theme (http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/List_of_LBP2_Decorations#Avalonia).2011-07-25 17:53:00
