oooooo, this looks good. will try it out. in the queue it goes | 2011-07-25 04:17:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
I checked out this level. And it's great both in terms of a fun and solid gameplay (mostly bouncing around), and an eye-pleasing design. The music that accompanied the whole level was nothing short of brilliant. I love it, in fact, I would like to ask if it is a secret prize in the level? If not, that's too bad. Oh well, I just might try it out again just to hear that song. Well if you got the time, would you mind giving feedback on my level? It is a story based platformer (with some humour) that is set in hell. It is a LBP1 level though, so don't expect too much from it. Here it is: Title: Sinner's Redemption Thread: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=60154-Sinner-s-Redemption Link: http://lbp.me/v/3hcswv (http://lbp.me/v/3hcswv) Thanks for your time. | 2011-07-25 06:29:00 Author: romancrisis Posts: 138 |
Wow, that play-through really couldn't have been too much better. The visual style struck me as slightly unusual at first, but as soon as the music picked up and I started hopping and bouncing around it meshed with the atmosphere perfectly. Smooth, fun platforming with just the right amount of challenge backed up by a catchy soundtrack actually made dying and continuing acceptable; I wanted to beat this level. As an added bonus, you must have worked out the length of the level with the your composer, as the music ended JUST when I reached the scoreboard. Well done You don't have to bother with a F4F for me, as both my levels are LBP1 and I don't really check on them. This is one of those levels that is truly unique in terms of theme, creating a world that feels kind of odd at first, but later it fits the level perfectly. What I mean by that is that with a lot of other levels there is a certain abundance of materials that fit together, gathered from one or two themes. That makes the level instantly recognizable in terms of theme. With this level, the materials used don't exactly adhere to one theme, creating something that feels completely new. That is a very hard thing to do, finding that mixture that just feels right, and it's something you just did. Great job. The music accompanying the level is on its own already brilliant and it just fits the level perfectly. I happily played and died through your level and I'd happily do it again and again. If you have the time, why don't you play and review my level: LBP.me: http://lbp.me/v/2sznf3 Thread: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=59483-Tubular-Bells-Mike-Oldfield | 2011-07-25 18:55:00 Author: DoodVogeltje Posts: 81 |
Just recently played this level. The design was very nice. Visuals seemed to on spot and not lacking. The combination of decorations, stickers and material design balanced this level great. I liked the custom music. Fit the theme quite well. Gameplay was fun. It was not too frustrating nor was too easy. Perfect balance (at least for me). Really enjoyed the level. One note, I got stuck at one point. It is where you bounce up near the end. Somehow Sackboy went into the foreground and I could not get out. Had to pop and retry. I've uploaded a pic for you to see in the game. That is the best way to tell you where it happened. Other than this minor issue, I did not find any other bugs or gameplay issues. Level ran smoothly and efficiently. Overall, a fine level which I enjoyed very much. Thank you for creating and sharing this level. If you have the time, check out my F4F level Neptunia. Hey Thanks for letting me know about this bug. I have fixed it. | 2011-07-25 23:41:00 Author: TUL10 Posts: 61 |
The During The title sequence is a good start to the level. From first impressions the level theme is an ancient relics mixed into the jungle. Very nice. The music choice is very catchy and sets the tone. hmm the words "Ancient Security System" don't get along very well. I'll roll with it. The first platforming sections are good yet the camera angle feels a bit too static. Although called "Light fortress" the lights effects in the next bounce pad section seem conflicting I didn't expect those platforms to appear out of thin air. I died because of that. Perhaps make them come out earlier? I like how you hid the checkpoint int the floor. Clever You even hid bounce pads in platforming sections. Very nice Now all the people are waiting out side the fortress? I was expecting a to hit a button of some sort... AND finished. Nice touch with your name at the end The After The level was an excellent platforming piece and made a great use of the bounce pads. It created a very good setting for "the Mighty Sack" to bounce through. There is only few things I have to question with your level design Around the beginning the player is going through an open area above the spawn. The camera is rigid at that point and zooms all the way out. Not exactly a warm easy welcome to the level only 30 seconds in. Some platforming sections change before the player has time to react. And at times I felt lost but only because do to the camera angles and hoe I couldn't see the whole area in detail. Also is it infinite check points? If not how can you gauge how many lives you have. Oh well. The Verdict The Light Fortress is a great bounce pad level that has a non-overbearing story with beautiful detail in design and platforming. I would recommend it to my friends. A very unique blend of gameplay that I wasn't too sure where it was gonna lead to. Surprisingly, I was pretty impressed with the mechanics that went into this level. I really liked how you used the whole light theme in your contraptions to make it challenging enough to enjoy and not so difficult that I couldn't finish. There was one area that the moving lights was shooting plasmas in one layer only. That I would make it a bit more challenging and have it switch to different layers(hope you know what I'm talking about). Other than that, I enjoyed playing this level. Well done | 2011-07-29 18:58:00 Author: tripple_sss Posts: 250 |
I must say, I am thoroughly impressed! You did a fantastic job here. The most impressive thing in the level for me though, was probably the visuals. The way everything fit in perfectly with your "Light Temple" theme was great. Gameplay-wise the level was fantastic as well! Nothing got repetitive or boring, and the bounce pads were put to great use. The story was great as well. Not the most original story out there, but it worked just fine. Very impressive level overall. I wouldn't change anything about it. Looking forward to seeing more from you! Keep up the great work! If you're still doing F4F, a little bit of feedback here would be great. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=60714-Wooden-Chaos) | 2011-07-29 22:17:00 Author: eagerneph Posts: 1536 |

I really liked it! It was great, it had easy platforming, clever puzzles (more of like platforming ideas) and I LOVED the music! It all has a nice steady pace. Nothing is unfairly difficult, but just takes patience! The design was fairly nice too, better than any of my levels design XD in my opinion at least. But overall I loved it! and a heart from me ^-^ if you could give F4F feedback on my Space tag level, that'd be great! Thanks! | 2011-08-01 04:37:00 Author: Stunkel Posts: 120 |
I played this level yesterday and it was a lot of fun. VISUALS: The opening title is well put, and the materials are neatly polished. It has some interesting light effects. SOUND: Very good custom music. It fitted really well in this level. GAMEPLAY: This level has some simple but awesome platforming. It has a bunch of great bounce pad obstacles as well. The difficulty is well balanced that all players should experience. OVERALL: It's a level not to be missed. A yay, heart, and positive feedback. Played this the other day, thought it was excellent. I particularly liked your visual style, it was unique and striking. A couple of very minor nitpicks: I believe there were a few spelling mistakes in the opening dialogue, you misspelt light as ligth a couple of times. Also there was a platform I believe lead to certain death, think it's the one in your screenshot labelled as number 2? (I'll apologise, I'm working off of notes I made a few days ago so the level isn't fresh in my mind). But those light platforms in that very screenshot need to be activated if I remember rightly? If you don't activate them, and jump down on the platform before, there's no way back up so you're forced to kill yourself. I THINK that's the platform, but I'm not 100% certain so ignore me if it's not the case. On that note, I also really liked your switches - little things like that made the level shine. As F4F could you check out the level in my sig please, cheers. | 2011-08-01 18:18:00 Author: Xaif Posts: 365 |
The Level has been updated. Fixed some minor mistakes, and include some improves. [ Remember that is a one player level] | 2011-08-04 00:09:00 Author: TUL10 Posts: 61 |
Wowee, that was an impressive level. I thought the premise was great, and the monks well done. The visuals were awesome. Obstacles looked challenging, but only took 3 attempts at most (a good thing). The music was perfect. Fit the level nicely. I did run into one issue though. When you spawn beneath the floor, and get bounced above it (before activating the stronger bounce pad that launches you higher), you can get stuck down there. I think it's due to the floor piece that rapidly moves in and out of the way. I must have missed going past it, and got locked inside the floor. This is just a random idea, perhaps add some of the 'fluff' clouds high up, when you are outside around the taller towers. It'd serve no purpose other than to look cool. Perhaps you could use them to partially conceal the tower tops until you reach them (the ones with the point bubbles)...? I dunno, just some idea that stuck my mind as I was writing this. F4F: Merc's level in sig. I suggest 3 players, 4 if you have no lag. | 2011-08-04 05:49:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
Hey SSTAGG1. Thanks for your review. By the way, There are in fact secrets bubbles points in that tower. Is not only look cool | 2011-08-06 21:18:00 Author: TUL10 Posts: 61 |
