What is with all of these "Save LBP2" levels? They tell us that the cool pages are poor, and that we need to end H4H and other garbage like that. They say that we need to "War" against these things, and stop them... ...by not really doing anything. Listen people, these "Save LBP2" levels are just as spammy as the levels they talk down on. You can not stop H4H, L4L, or any of that stuff. People naturally want cheap ways to gain invaluable rewards in video games. In other games this has happened. Remember the glitch where everyone could get free DLC? Yeah... how many of us didn't partake in that?... Really when you get down to it, hearts, pin, and trophies don't matter. The Cool Pages are always going to be rot. While some of the community is determined to make good levels, or in general be good players (I'd say maybe 1/4). Most of them aren't. You've got your preteen kids who just want to shoot, kill, or blow things up... (Curse you FPS games!!!). Then there are emos and "emos*". The over obsessed achievements/trophies hoarders. The casual players who don't really care if a level is "Spammy'.ETC The 3/4 or more of the community that aren't good players are always going to play and or like the "bad' levels, which is why we have the garbage cool pages. The same people will always make these garbage levels. It's because while the good part of the community will dislike these levels, Most of the community will. Really people these "Save LBP2" levels are useless because well... They're no gonna solve anything. Don't believe me? Well how many of these "Save LBP2" Levels have you seen? And have they saved LBP2? Looks the same as it ever did to me... *Emo Wannabes... Theres billions of them in LBP2,,,

"emos*". Where does that asterisk lead to? We will never know Though seriously, I remember this one guy who made loads of videos which were just a sackperson standing there moving his limbs about and SPEAKING ALL IN CAPS, and loads of people hearted him and stuff. Then after he accumulated a load of hearts, he stopped. People are either in it for the hearts or believe that whatever's 'wrong' with LBP2 (which is?) can be solved by awful levels. There is no way of solving what's 'wrong', except with some sort of divine intervention from Mm, but that'd be ridiculously convoluted on their part to make as program can't filter out the good from the bad. Just learn to ignore bad levels, and find good ones, with the help of sites like this.

hey all. hows about we actually get together on one day in millions of teams of two and attack the dive in on the cool pages. join randomers, ask them why they like lbp2, and then if they prove they r h4hers or whatever slap them and kill them and leave. a war basiclly. or make a REALLY GOOD level about the problem with lots of fun platforming* and so on but with a message. P.S. im kidding about the dive in thing, although that would make a funny lbp machinima, sackpeople running through levels killing people... heh.... * walrus :3

My dream would be all those specials friends and a variation of reliable players chose what went on cool pages on what wasn't. I know its impossible, unfair and make people angry etc but c'mon, that'd be much more awesome and much less garbage. It'd be like a less official, more flowing mm picks....

I think I know why MM won't filter out all the crap levels. Lets say they filter out using the term "Bomb Survival" and got rid of them. The problem is that if out of the many many crap bomb survival levels the dozen that are actually good would be taken out unjustly.

Actually, I have found COUNTLESS good levels and yet see these levels. I'd guess they look at page one and go "OMGOMGOMGOMGHOMGOKGMGOGMGOGMBHGNMHGNMKUHJYTGKGNHI MUST SAVEWW LBP2!!1!1111" At least, that's my idea of it.

Say MM nominates 50-70 players (maybe those who spend more time into the game) to check out recent levels and decide if they deserve the Cool Pages or not. One of those people could put a vote on a level they think deserving enough, and with that one vote, the level would get on a playlist only those select people could access so that they could also vote on it. Once said level got an established approval rate, it would gt into the cool pages. Of course that the members of this team could get a little reward for their service to the community, but not something specific like a crown or pin. Couldn't be anything that says "Hey, I'm one of the guys who decides what goes into Cool Pages" or those people would get constant and certain harassment by others to play their levels.

I'd love to see the Cool Pages become kind of like a communilation of all the different fansites' Community Spotligh-esque things. Mm could 'employ' a few members of each fan sites' team and they could pick a few levels from their latest spotlight to showcase on Cool Pages. Alternatively, Mm could pick some of their friends in the community, who they trust, and make Cool Pages into a form of their stream, showing only levels they have hearted. With enough people used, this could easily replace Cool Pages, and Mm wouldn't even have to reveal to the community who hearted what to prevent harassment etc.

I think I know why MM won't filter out all the crap levels. The reason is because it hurts their bottom line. Mm provides a social networking game, which is not to say it provides a quality user experience. They make the platform, and sell it, and sell content through it. More people = more numbers = more value. They may not like crap levels any more than the players but they sure do take advantage of the numbers (over 4.7 million levels! as advertised in June 2011) and while 10 spammers may drive away one good creator a week, Mm and Sony are more than making up for it by selling DLC to the spammers. And spam creates plays. It's just a fact. Look at the numbers. Mm may eventually introduce a search word filter, to address complaints about being unable to censor spam ourselves. But it will never filter out content based on "quality" without player consent. And it might still not make filter settings more powerful, because again, it affects their bottom line. Regardless of how filtering is introduced, it's going to generate thousands of complaints from spammers ("y do my lvl stop gettng plays??? u ruined lbp!!!! i'm quitten lbp u suk"). Look at it this way: LBPCentral is full of creative and friendly people, and at least once a week someone here starts another conversation about how something is unfair, broken, etc. Imagine two million levels worth of outraged customers about the same thing... never mind the hypocrisy that they steal attention and hurt the community, as soon as THEIR level gets targeted as spam they will spew vitriol about how the community sucks and Mm is evil... ten times worse than any decent creator would dare to act. Spam is here to stay. It's a part of online life. Just think of LBP1 and LBP2 as a social network with a used car sales mentality. You don't expect Facebook to censor all the "crap" pages, and you certainly don't remove cars from the lot when it attracts customers (over 5,000 available! come down today!).

I'd say instead of filtering out the crap levels, just make a new set of pages featuring levels picked out by a team of community members that know what a good quality level is supposed to look like. Kinda like mm picks, just constantly updating like the cool pages. That way, the noobs and spammers can hang out on the cool pages while the more reasonable people can have easy acess to good quality levels without having to sift through garbage.
