Little Big Gravitron
Archive: 8 posts
This is my first LBP2 level. It's been published a while back, but since I just found this community, I though I would give it a go on the feedback system. So feel free to tell me what you think: what you think I should add, what you think I should change, etc. I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Hurray for pics! http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k600/Jyoze/Little%20Big%20Gravitron%20finished/UmaFoto_38.jpg http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k600/Jyoze/Little%20Big%20Gravitron%20finished/UmaFoto_33.jpg http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k600/Jyoze/Little%20Big%20Gravitron%20finished/UmaFoto_35.jpg http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k600/Jyoze/Little%20Big%20Gravitron%20finished/UmaFoto_36.jpg http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k600/Jyoze/Little%20Big%20Gravitron%20finished/UmaFoto_37.jpg UPDATE: Added a timer which displays how long you played. The amount of time is displayed both in-game and at the end of the level, so feel free to snap a photo of it and upload it. Added an invincibility power-up. Tell me in the comments which power-ups you think I should add next Added a menu, with the option to choose a music of your liking, and instructions on how to play the level Added difficulty options: Easy, Medium and Hard. The higher the difficulty, the faster the objects move. http://lbp.me/v/yppphp | 2011-07-22 02:20:00 Author: Unknown User |
Queued it so I can probably leave the sugestions tomorrow. As for F4F I would like my Wooden Works: Part 1 to be taken a look at | 2011-07-22 06:42:00 Author: Crazed Creator Posts: 177 |
OK, I played your level and I thought it was unique from all the other arcade levels in LBP2, and was simple, yet very addicting! (I replayed it 4 times hoping to get a better score xP) It really is a shame that the scoreboards aren't working or I'd have play it 5 more times to be the top guy xD. Suggestions: -This is up to you, but maybe add three live to start out with? -Possibly add power ups, for example: yellow star gets you double points etc. (this would be a big change, so maybe if your making a second one) -At the the end there should a timer to see how long you lasted, so people can upload there time thru a picture. -A menu screen for simple options, like 'START' or "INTRUCTIONS/HOW TO PLAY' because maybe they haven't read the description. Changes: -None except maybe have the squares shooting out at you have different speds depending on the color, but thats more of a suggestion Pros: -Fun and addicting! -Well made and unique -It has great gameplay Cons: -Imediately starts the game once level is loaded -It won't let me beat my previous score > Overall I give it 5 Stars for its originality and funness, though you may want to tweak somethings but thats all up to you! Level hearted PS: Thanks for your review on my level | 2011-07-22 23:42:00 Author: Crazed Creator Posts: 177 |
Thank you so much for your review and suggestions! As for your suggestions: Well, you do start with 3 tries (2-1-0 tries left). You can pick up more lives as you play, since they randomly pop up. Also, the cap is 5 lives (5 tries + final try), so adding more live to the ones you already start with would bring the player too close to the cap right from the start. But I might as well increase the cap (which I'm thinking of doing). I did try adding power-ups in an unreleased version, but I decided not to. The reason being, later on, the screen would get too crowded with objects. But I might add it when I work a way around that. Loved the timer idea! I'll add one as soon as I can I'll also add a menu soon. As for the cons you mentioned, do you mind explaining them? What do you by "-Imediately starts the game once level is loaded"? Does it lack an initial cutscene or did it not show an initial screen saying "Press X to begin"? Also, what do you mean by "-It won't let me beat my previous score"? | 2011-07-23 20:16:00 Author: Unknown User |
Tuurahk, Only had about 5 minutes to play your level, but in those five minutes, I loved it! Such a simple concept, but yet it's good! Suggesstions: Have different colored enemies go different speeds....Powerups(Invincibility, freeze enemies, stuff like that) Pros: Simple gameplay with nothing complicated, easy to pick up and play. Also simple, non distracting graphics Cons: Nothing that hasn't already been previously stated, lives, etc. All in all, it's a great level that could also have a little bit more added to it. If you'd like, could you play my level (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=59875-Space-Mini-Level) and leave some feed back? Tried this level and it was fun. The design was very simple, neat, and clean. Although I agree with crazed creator about putting up at least a few power ups to keep things interesting. It will also make your players want to replay your level. If you got the time, I would love to have some feedbacks on my level. It's a story-based platformer set in hell. It's on LBP1 though, this means you could encounter some bugs if you played it in LBP2. Here it is: Sinner's Redemption (http://lbp.me/v/3hcswv) | 2011-07-24 04:41:00 Author: romancrisis Posts: 138 |
@Tuurahk Well most levels, especially mini-games have small menues like 'Start' or 'Controls', it just adds a sense of control the the player has. Its not neccesary, and that is more of suggestion, so I'll leave it up to you. As for the other con, I was just joking around,it wasn't a glitch or anything I just couldn't do as good as I did before. | 2011-07-24 05:05:00 Author: Crazed Creator Posts: 177 |
I know it is not exactly right to bump a thread, specially when the last reply has been made over 2 weeks ago, but I think the updates are worth bumping it. So, major update here! Added most of the things people asked me for in previous comments such as: A menu, with how to play instructions and a music selector, so you can play the level to a tune of your choosing (missing a music you like? Tell me and I'll add it in the next update ) Timer, which displays for how long you've played. Power-up, which renders lethal objects harmless for a few seconds (if you would like to see more power-ups included, tell me which ones you think I should add next ) | 2011-08-11 19:50:00 Author: Unknown User |
