I really hope you'll get to play and give feedback to this.

Thanks ahead of time.

okie! i loved it, i very platforming heavy level, i managed to glitch some areas you can see em i uploaded pics. but most was purposefully done and was painstakingly difficult. the glitchs, not the levels. there were quite a bit of cutscenes though... they are needed... but itjust took too long dragged out and made the level take a lot longer then needed. all in all 9 out of 10 (the same number of chests i found ) by the way, you sure theres 10? i found 9 and i exausted and broke 4 to five parts because of my extensive search, oh and the board gun is a nice idea but hard to use, maybe make it shoot them flat and not so they go up your you know what mainly because it was a short section that will turn players off, also move the hamster wheel part down near the bombs, i see what you did but it became tedius fast. and i couldnt really blow up the cardboard well... it took a while and a lot of sacrificing, again all and all great level, and good eye for detail.:star::star::star::star::star:<32011-07-22 07:21:00

Very good level! Well built, cut scenes are well timed, not too fast nor too slow, has a nice feeling to it, and the BGM also fits in quite nicely. Loved the plank-shooting creatinator, though I have to agree with dragonights. It would be a bit easier to use if you could shoot them flat. The scavenger hunt was also a great idea (too bad I didn't find them all though, but I'm not giving up ). Also, might I suggest a minor tweak? Towards the end, right before you activate the elevator to the scoreboard, there is a part in which you have to grab an object hanging by a chain. When the chain retracts, it gets a bit too short for you to balance and jump onto the platform. Nothing special, really, it's just a tad annoying. Overall, a 9/10 for this one Great job!2011-07-22 16:38:00

@dragonights

Thankyou for your great feedback! Thanks for uploading pics, I hope I'll be able to fix them
About the cut scenes, well without them the player would be lost so I can't change much.

@TSFRJ
Yeah, I did that too, but I couldn't find a way to fix it.

@Tuurahk
I aslo thankyou for your great feedback and for reviewing my level.
I'll be sure to increase the accuracy, and make the minimum lenth longer for the chain your talking about.
BTW, I'll be sure to review your level ASAP!

Played this level recently.

It was enjoyable. A lot of platforming elements. Visuals were nice. It did seem a bit long. I felt it was dragging a bit near the end. Not a big deal though as I really enjoyed playing this level. I think I only found one treasure. Oh well.

Gameplay seemed smooth. I liked the Creatinator of the the plank. The bomb puzzle was a bit annoying. Great storyline as well.

Overall, this was a well made level.

Thank you for creating this level and sharing it.

Good level, a lot of ideas. I agree with the idea of making the planks flat, il would make it easier to make your way to the top. The level is quite long, maybe just a little too long, but it's still very enjoyable and have a lot of fun gameplay sequences. About the bomb puzzle, I thought it would have been better to start the bomb machine once with the wheel instead of having to constantly use the wheel to emit bombs, but it's ok and working fine as it is.

Overall good level, I liked it.

If you have the time to return the F4F favor, can you check my BLOCKS level ? https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=60020-BLOCKS-1-PLAYER-ONLY-Puzzle-Platform-Exploration-level

Thanks !

I have just had a quick shot at Wooden Works; though I have also just 're-queued' it as I did not finish it, So I will give you some feedback next time I have a go.

But I did enjoy it... really liked the creatinator steps concept... hard, but once I got the hang of it I was better at it. I also enjoyed the conveyer section - Good job there are cutscenes as I would not know where I was going to go next.

Thoroughly enjoyed that

Nice theme, lots of time and care went into the many elements including those creative mini tasks and the hidden treasure (I only found 1 tho :s)

There were a couple of parts (typically involving the cs's) which could have been sped up a little, small complaint on an otherwise great level

Sure! I'll Queue it and probably leave my feedback tomorrow!
And is there a specific place where you'd like me to put the feedback, like on a thread, or just on this thread?

@Masseyf
Thanks! Yes, I get small complaints of it being slow paced at some points.

Managed to try this level out. Its design all throughout the level were simple and neat, I like it.

But what shines here are the varying platformers and puzzle sections that was a delight to accomplish. In particular, the creatinator that creates wooden planks was great fun to get the hang of. It was unfortunate though that it was only used once in the level.

A minor suggestion though, is it possible to increase the speed of the cutscenes or possibly turn them just to speech bubbles. Those parts weren't really that long, but it kind of slowed the overall pacing of the diverse set of platforms and puzzles.

All in all, it was a good-looking level with varying puzzles.

If you got the time, would you kindly try out my level and leave a feedback on it? It's called Sinner's Redemption and it is a story-based platformer set in hell. It is a LBP1 level though, so there maybe some random bugs afloat.

Here it is: http://lbp.me/v/3hcswv

@melomanic
Since you didn't give me a thread to go to I'll just leave my feedback here.

Your level was good fun with nice platforming segments, some unique and cool, others dull but still enteraining me a bit with challenge.
The anti-rage quit feature is kind of nice but put in the wrong places, where you need is at neon sections.
Overall a good level that enterained because the level was prettylegnthy

Okay, I just played your level and I have to say, you do know how to create interesting scenery with mostly wood. I really liked the overlap of segments: Run to C to activate door B, get to B via A to activate D. The recurrence of some of those elements was nothing short of ingenious. Another plus is the timing of cut scenes and thorough explanation of what the game wants you to do. A lot of creators do not take the time for this, resulting in ignorant players eventually ragequitting, because they don't know what they're expected to do. The hidden treasure chests were also a nice addition to the level. Although I couldn't find all of them, as they were really well hidden, I'd go back and try it again. That's a bit of replay value that you can really use to your advantage.

Now for the downsides of the level:
It had substantial gameplay elements that were sometimes a bit too, well, not difficult but, a little annoying and repetitive. For instance the area where you have to shoot ten of those wooden planks into an incinerator. Cut it down to five and you'll have the same effect without a lot of repetitiveness. Another thing is the wooden plank creatinator. It was really hard for me to get upstairs by using that gun and I'm sure a lot of other players feel the same way. I hope you can find a way to always position the planks horizontally, as this will certainly help your cause.

That's it for my, quite lengthy, review. I hope it was useful and will help you become an even better creator.

If you have the time, why don't you play and review my level:

@DoodVogeltje
Thanks for your input on both sides! It was very helpful and I'll be sure to decrease the incinerator requirement.
And as for the Creatinator I made the accuracy for wooden planks very low for challenge, but I could definately increase accuracy.

Thanks again, and I'll be sure give feedback to your level ASAP.

UPDATED LEVEL!
Sorry for the double post, but I've recently updated my level, taking the feedback from you guys.

Here's some of the things I have changed/updated/improved
-Increased the plank shooting Creatinators accuracy.
-Made it much easier to swing across on the chain in the contruction area.
-Decreased the needed amount in the incinerator area down to 6.
-Tweaked various bouncepads.
-Glued down various objects.

I can't thank the people who left feedback enough, because these changes are all thanks to you
I'll freely accept more feedback to make more tweaks and changes, with definite returned feedback!

I played this level earlier today, here's my feedback.

I really enjoyed it, there are some very clever platforming ideas and I always like levels that interconnect their sections. I'll focus mainly on things I disliked, as that is the most useful to you. =P A lot of the things I have issues with have been mentioned by other people as well so I'll try to summerise.

- Right at the very beginning I jumped down the pit and died, a minor nitpick but the fact I couldn't see any hazard and that the level promotes the hidden treasures to find, I instantly felt a little bit... deceived? Why wouldn't I jump down there to investigate? All you'd need to do for this would be to raise the spikes or zoom the camera out a bit so you can actually see them.

- I didn't really understand the incinerator section, like, why was it moving back and forward in that odd motion? I understood what I needed to do but it was just a bit... odd.

- The explosives section was very tedious, I had to run up to the wheel about 4 times and it was very difficult to blow up the hidden area. I just ended up blowing myself up each time to get the job done. I'd suggest shortening the cardboard so it's destroyed in two blasts maximum and bring the circuit board forward.

- The creatinator was a very fresh idea, I enjoyed that section despite it being a bit awkward. I think I share the sentiments of others in the thread, perhaps make them land upright? Attach a gyroscope perhaps?

- On a personal note I find the cutscenes were a bit too much, especially in conjunction with the arrow hints. I'm probably a bit hypocritical here as my level is pretty cutscene heavy... but the cutscenes do the same thing as the arrows. If you're shown where to go by the camera, then the arrows are a bit redundant if you get what I mean. Like I say, more a personal note, I like to work out where to go for myself.

Either way I had an enjoyable 30+ minutes on your level, so good job. As F4F could you please play the level in my signiture, thanks. Make sure you also have 30+ minutes spare haha.
