Hey I just published my newest level. The gameplay revolves around using the creatinator in unique ways to bypass obstacles, such as reaching new heights, crossing gaps, etc.

I tested the level so much I almost became tired of it, but I think it is still fun and original. Please report any problems or issues. Any feedback would be great. Hope you like it.

Yeah thanks awesomearnold for frowning it and saying it was boring. How about some actual constructive criticism?? I spent over fifty hours on the level. Could you not tell I put a lot of effort into it at least?? I mean if you think its boring that's your opinion but in my opinion costume giveaways are boring too.2011-07-21 19:05:00

Just played this level. It seemed more like a tutorial type level. But, from your perspective, the description did state it was demonstrating various uses of the Creatinator. I don't know, I just did not find this as fun as your other levels. Maybe it was the lack of action compared to what you usually make.

Other than that, it was designed well. Gameplay was smooth. I did not find any bugs or problems with it. Don't get me wrong, you have a great level. I just found that it was lacking in the fun department compared to your other levels.

Just my two cents.

Hey thanks. Yeah I almost started to add "tutorial" in the title or "prologue" or even "intro." However, I decided to make the player test subject number 19 instead, trying to convey the idea that this is a tutorial for a future sequel where the gameplay is more involved. I didn't want to make this one hard because I was worried people would or might have enough trouble getting the hang of the creatinators. I just wanted to do something different and break away from the standard platformer. And I feel as though the creatinator is way under used in lbp2 so that's why most of the gameplay focuses on it. Thanks again.2011-07-21 22:29:00

You have amazed me once again, Shookie. This time with various ways of using the creatinator.

VISUALS:
The retro-colored visuals looked great, and it is well corner edited and well decorated.

SOUND:
Awesome echoing sounds.

GAMEPLAY:
The creatinator usage is very impressive as I used them to create the platforms and activate switches. There aren't any bugs and glitches, so great job.

OVERALL:
An excellent creatinator-driven level. A yay, heart, and positive review.

I really enjoyed it thought it started a little slow and was a tad dull, but it picked up nicely and there's some nice detailing throughout.

As I said in my in-game review, the one thing that felt missing was a bit more of a challenge, even adding some obstacle to the last section would have made for a more satisfying ending. Gj overall =]

@awesomearnold...I will check out your level soon. I thought I would let you know that I have not nor will I ever frown anyone's level. I would say a frown is equal to a one or two star rating and I noticed you changed your rating to a smile but I also noticed you took the time to go back and change it to a frown. No worries dude cause I suppose my level deserves it because the gameplay was bad, the visuals were horrible, it was unoriginal, and lacked any fun factor and if it was all those things then a frown would be appropriate.

@justinart and pystens..thank you so much for great feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of hard work and a lot of testing. Probably close to the fifty hour mark.

@masseyf...thanks for the feedback. I wanted to ramp up the difficulty but I was worried that if people had trouble with the creatinators then adding difficult obstacles would be frustrating. However I do plan on making a sequel in the near future...I mean we need to find out who sabatoged the generator right? The sequel will be much more involved and have at least one new creatinator. I personally think the goo gun deserves an entire level so I may do a small side level for it.

Thanks again folks.

Well, Here we have another offering from Shookie. I gotta say it was not what I was expecting. This level is a departure from his "usual" style which we have grown to love. In this level, Shookie takes us to a darker corner of his imagination, to an erie futuristic corporation which treats us to a variety of new uses for the creatinator. We are guided on this journey by a cool lil' robot. My favorite creatinator tool being the "goo gun". A gun that shoots, well, sticky goo that the player has to use to solve puzzles and cross open spans. This level has it all, from the cool sound effects, to the great platforming and the awe inspiring atmosphere. Well done my friend. Another classic. Smiled upon and hearted.2011-07-30 01:21:00

Queued it up earlier and played through it. And I must say, wow! Having to use each of those Creatinators was something else, and I especially liked the "goo gun". It was just so versatile that I couldn't help but wonder just how useful it could be. It took me a bit to get a hang of the "bounce pad gun", but once I did I really liked it, too. The Blockinator was probably the easiest for me to get used to using, and I really liked using it as an improvised ladder.

I know it's impossible to not compare puzzle games like this to Portal (and I'm glad you were honest about the cake being a lie), but I certainly felt like I was playing a bona-fide LBP Portal DLC level

@jerry, thanks for the feedback dude. While not a lot of plays, its good to know that the folks who played it liked it, or most. Yeah my favorite is the goo gun. I got the idea for the goo gun shortly after finishing the section right before you get the bouncepad gun. I really think the goo gun could easily have an entire level jsut for it, which is something I might do in the future.

@mysteltain, thanks for playing it and feedbacking as well. Much appreciated. As I said, the goo gun has a lot of potential and needs its own level. Yeah I wanted to throw in the portal reference because my initial plan was to have a boss fight at the end in which the player has to use all four creatinators to defeat it, but since some of them can be used for the same purpose it was hard to come up with a way to pull it off. But a sequel would be okay since there was someone who sabotaged the generator. Thanks again.

Anyone else care to check out my underplayed level?? Lol. Every main lbp2 level I publish gets played less than the one before, and just when I thought I was finally making a name for myself, lol.
