Anyone into Video Game and Movie scores???

I am really big into movie and video game scores. My favorite scores would definitely be Godzilla music(mostly Akira Ifukube) . Is there anyone else out there that is a big fan of video game or movie scores as well? Thanks!!!2011-07-21 16:46:00

Although the Zelda soundtracks are all pretty good (or at least decent), The Wind Waker soundtrack always stood out for me. Shadow of the Colossus also has an epic soundtrack.2011-07-30 06:44:00

I don't pay very close attention to it but I do take interest in the one I like. My favorite Video Game score is the KH series, and there are countless Movies ones that I like.

I also do happen to like Mario and Sonic music.

There was an old PSOne game called Alundra, that had one of the best soundtracks. It was really surreal;

He did say movie scores as well as games you know! xD This is the most epic movie soundtrack I've ever heard. I listened to this for a couple of hours for a few days and by the end I could hear it echoing in my walls...

Since we're posting some favorites... My most recent passion was for the Game of Thrones (http://www.hbo.com/game-of-thrones/index.html) series. Several people took the show's opening theme (http://youtu.be/s7L2PVdrb_8) and did some covers, and one of them stood out above the rest. It's quite epic. (It's not a movie or a video game [yet], but definitely fits into the 'movie score' genre.)

Side note: Video game soundtracks don't quite catch my eye as much, but there is a great series (http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/programs/top-score/) on public radio devoted solely to this genre, and it's quite nice. Oh, I just love listening to game/movie OSTs! One that comes to mind right away is Portal 2.

And I can't go without saying that the Final Fantasy series definitely has some of the very best music! Personally, I'll always have a special place in my heart for VIII, since it was the one to bring back to the FF games. (had a tragic run in with FF: Mystic Quest when I was younger. Turned me away from the series for years. lol)

I really like the slightly eclectic, off-the-wall and goofy sound of this music.
