The Fear of the Return of Overlord

How would you feel if Overlord cameback right after Mm patched it? How would you feel that there are other ways of getting Overlord? How would you feel that it's not only bolts that can stick to you?

I just played a level describing how to do overlord.

No, I am not giving out the name of the creator nor his level. I want to protect him from harm, even though I dont know him.

I'd be very scared. I wouldn't want someone coming in and ruining my competitive levels by boosting their score to the max. You not reporting this creator makes you just as guilty. This glitch is bad for the community. I'd suggest you do the right thing, and report this creator, but that is purely up to you.2011-07-20 22:12:00

Overlord isnt just for max score. I used ti to get the acing pins. My friend used it to ace story and get prizes. Hazbell used it to copy to the emitters tut. There are many other uses for it. I also heard that he got overlord in LBP12011-07-20 23:12:00

Isn't the question a bit loaded? The overlord glitch breaks the game. You're asking if people like a broken game. It's like a journalist asking a politician, "how would you feel if you were in an even bigger scandal, and had no control over it, and it was horrible?"2011-07-21 02:18:00

Erm, what's the overlord glitch?

If it is the thing that's responsible for the leader boards being turned off then get it the **** out. Not only is doing that a reason enough to give the exploiters an extra special needs award, tbh I don't care about them. What does annoy me is that it's taking from the online experience, If i come across a lvl I like I may want to try for a nice score, since they turned the thing off I'm going thru lvls and just going meh to bubbles and possibly missing bits because I sometimes ignore an area that the creator naturally thought I'd see coz who walks off on the bubbles.... Dunno just kinda takes from the experience.....

It's what makes people able to cheat and get max Scores in a level they played. Have you not noticed that there haven't been any other scores in the boards besides yours for days? And judging by the post above, it gives you the ability to transform into the powerful Plasma-Sack. I didn't know that part. I thought the horrible sackboy abominations were caused by the Spawnpop Cancer.


I usually don't care about scores, but watching the empty scoreboards with only my name in them had an eerie feel to it. It was like everybody in the community has gone, or like I was back in the days I didn't have internet on the PS3 		2011-07-21 10:41:00

I never cared. I thought it was a complete over reaction to take down the scoreboards. I personally don't care if someone wants to cheat to get the highscore. Would anyone have even known that they had the top score in story mode? Who cares?

Ban the people who cheat, and fix the game.

The only reason I'm annoyed with this glitch is because MM makes this a priority instead of fixing more important issues like level links, local cam, etc, etc etc.		2011-07-21 17:18:00

Earlier today, I was able to place other logic on my sack. Problem was that, I didnt know how to go back to the pod without losing the item. I could emit items, ect. ect. Really hope they patch this new verison.

No body cares that you don't care about it (and specially MM), some people simply care and may feel that vlaue of the game drops and see some things pointless, this is why online cheat should be eliminated. That you dont care about online hiscore it does not mean that oyu can cheat them around as you like, same goes with collect and aceing levels, some pins fully lost credibility.

I'm not overly concerned with the scoreboard per say, it's more the fact I can see who's completed the level, it's just devaluing the online experience in general for me.

A rare rare time Ill find a lvl I like enough that I wish to aim for a nice score, that's only happened once so far, with lockstitch's refuse ridge, got 55,206 I believe, was #5, I was thinking will I leave it there or go for the top, went to check to see how much I was off by and .... Wtf, I'm not there at all o.O (nice time to find out about the disabled boards lol! And ofc they said they are going to roll back to june1st, before I started LBP :/)

I appreciate they need to patch the problem, but it wouldn't hurt them to take some action on the exploiters, really sends out the msg u can do what u like...
Deleting the obviously glitched scores would be easy, at least it's a start. Then those who did it once, a warning (they were curious, no biggie). Those who did it multiple times, temp ban and if use been banned before for the same thing and repeat offend it's gtfo permanent style.

Seems fair to me anyway... Also willing to bet those kind of actions would reduce how much similar **** happens in future.		2011-07-21 20:29:00

:kz: I haven't Re-Opened my Slime Factory level, because Overlord Users could just cheat to get the Prizes & since it's a Mini-Game, Scores matter. Why? Because I wanted to make a level where people could try & get a High-Score like any other Arcade game & earn Bragging rights, but it'll never happen if Overlord is still up. Oh, how I hate this Glitch so. I just wanted to see if I can get my level in the "Cool" Pages & maybe even an Mm Pick, but it'll never happen because of Overlord.2011-07-21 20:52:00

Plasma-Sack turns your sackboy into Plasma. Giving you immunities to it and allows you to kill anyone you touch.
Spawnpop kills you as soon as you spawn, preventing you from playing. Which I think even the risk of that should be prevention from this glitch but some losers can't have fun without ruining it for everyone else. MM should just ban anyone they find using it, trying to use it and most of all the people spreading it all over, making it even worse then it already is.		2011-07-21 21:01:00

I did manage to set my sackboy on fire, it gave me immunity to fire and let me burn people. I managed to get rid of it by jumping in water. The next time I tried it, I gave myself a firey version of spawnpop in which I spawned then incinerated. I easily cured it by turning off my controller. I decided not to mess with it anymore after that.2011-07-23 03:26:00

I think Overlord is harmless, as long as they use it for non-cheating purposes only. People bringing in emitters WILL wreck your precious, thought through level. Which really stinks, as LBP 2 is already bad enough. Just don't get me started on LBP 1. 2011-07-23 10:18:00

:kz: Since Scoreboards are considered useless, I made a "Fake" Scoreboard. Looks like one, but instead, it's activated by a Player Sensor & a Game Ender. Ends the game, just doesn't upload the Score. Back to overlord, I haven't seen anyone successfully emit objects with it after 1.05, seems to just allow danger tweakers. So I wouldn't worry about your levels too much.		2011-07-28 18:31:00
