Does someone know about how many people have a rare prize crown in LBP?

Media Molecule might have a list lying around, but it would certainly be a long one. Many people for many various different reasons have received crowns, all over the community. You just have to win a contest or do something MM likes to get one. Also, theyre always free, dont know whyd they have a "rare price".

I often wonder how many MM picked creators get a crown and how many crowned creators are not MM picked. And the way MM decides who gets a crown/pick. Does a commitee of a few staff members get together on some appointed hour, sit down to play suggested levels and decide if they any of them deserves any of these honors? Or do these hypothetical MM employees have the freedom to pick/crown the levels/creators that amaze them? Just wondering, anyway. We haven't seen a new MM pick in weeks, have excellent levels ceased to come up or has MM ceased searching for them?

I hear there's a large number of them. Though, I never see anyone In-game wearing one (not counting the reviews).

Haha, "rare," that's kinda funny seeing how many sites give them away like pancakes for whatever reason. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more people with crowns than without them, nowdays. xD

so i have been working my butt off trying to get these trophys for nothing? If you are doing it for a crown, yes. You get a LBP pin, and a PS3 trophy on your stats. That's it.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were more people with crowns than without them, nowdays. xD I don't think so if it was true, people would not go wild when you been able to get free crown on 1.00, not to mention majority of players are casuals that most likely don't even know about crown or don't care about it.

I saw it a lot in February-March but then it disappeared... suggesting that most people wearing it didn't earn it, but copied it using the sackbot costume save loophole that was later patched.

I actually used that exploit to get it in February, but back then I had no idea what a crown was. I thought it was a cool easter egg or something. When I played a "Message to the Community" level with someone complaining about how a crown is a sign of great creators, I deleted it all by myself long before the update even hit. But why would someone who deserved a crown not wear it because of it being "rude"? It's not rude. You won a contest or surprised MM in a good way, you deserve it. Bragging about it unnecessarily is rude, but why just wearing it? If I get the platinum pin and show it off on my profile am I being rude to those who don't have it? Also, the reason why some creators don't run around with their crowns is because they want to wear their favorite costumes where a crown doesn't fit. Some may not like the crown as an accessory. If i was given a choice between getting a crown or getting my spacesuit back, I'd choose the spacesuit. *sob*

Hmm, I wouldn't call it a "bragging item". People don't wear it only to show off what they won or how good they are, they wear it because it is special and awarded to them. It would be a bit of a waste NOT to wear it. It's like winning a car in a contest and not driving it EVER. It looks pretty cool, too. But yeah, that exploit was a bit overused (not that it should have been used at all). Now the crown has almost lost it's authority. There is a large number of people that have been crowned, but that doesn't mean that half of them used the exploit.
