I wasn't sure where I should post this, but since this section is called "Ideas and Projects", then that's what I'm going to do. Post an idea, nothing more. In fact, it's more of a request, but whatever. The other day I thought of making several levels based on the music album The Wall by Pink Floyd. I even watched the movie "The Wall" for some research (thanks to the soundtrack, it's a deep and epic film imo). But I just know I won't have the patience to do something like that, especially alone (because I don't see myself planning a big project with anyone). Doing ALL songs from scratch, adding my own vocals to the songs and characters, and learning more about cutscenes (cameras and acting aren't my thing), all by myself would be a daunting task. Plus, my 2 published levels are average at best and really short. I think this really needs to be done by a group of people (talented, preferably). It's a shame, because I really like the album and the band. So much, that I wanted someone to create that. I really wanted to see how that would turn out. Of course, made by someone that has the same/greater passion as/than me for both PF and LBP2. But like I said, it's just an idea. I might even change my mind some day and really put a huge effort into something like this. Until then, I'll just sit back and decide whether or not I should do a Breakout level >__> So is there anyone here willing to do this? How do you think it would turn out?

I doubt anyone's going to bother to reply now that the thread is already on the 3rd page with just around 30 views and not even a single comment... maybe I chose the wrong title for the thread and failed to capture anyone's attention. Thing is, I really wanted for something like this to happen, it would easily be one of the most EPIC stories to be told on LBP2. Granted, it's not entirely an original project, but there are many famous levels out there that are inspired by existing games. At least this one would have some substance and a message. Even if NO ONE in this site really has any interest for this project, at least post a reply, I want to hear some opinions. Anything will do... even trolling, lol (no).

But anyone who really likes music (and I think they have to, to be willing to do a project like this), knows Pink Floyd. I'm 20 years old, so the album is even older than me. I know it's **** OLD, but I think the whole music and parts of the story are timeless. I don't know if anyone will be interested in this, but it won't hurt if I try. Well there's your key word "OLD" If someone who actually knew the song, was great at making music, and was willing to do this, would help you. But that's not a high percentage of players. So this dream of yours might come true, might not.

I bet if it was a modern artist and not pink floyd you would get more attention, even if pink floyd was the better band. That's just the way it works. I'm also 20 and I say pink floyd is awesome. Dark side of the moon is better

Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands of ALL TIME. I have every single one of their studio releases, and have gone to see aussie floyd every single year for 4 years running. I would love to help out with this project... In any way.

I laughed at first at the notion that nobody has heard of Pink Floyd. That's like not knowing The Beatles! But we've in a truly new era of music and music delivery. Heck, if something's been autotuned it's considered "ancient" to the tween crowd, I bet if you showed the The Beatles and Pink Floyd they'd think both bands were from the same year (to kids, any period before they were born is just one big long year that didn't matter because they weren't alive yet). Heh heh. And Floyd has endured mainly for being discovered, over and over again, by disillusioned high schoolers and college kids. Not a slight against any group, but where kids dominate LBP, you'll need the help of an older creator to see this through, and most older creators loathe mashing up intellectual property, that's a sport for the Internet-savvy younguns! (Old being relative; my son is in junior high, so a twenty-something is still in diapers by my standards; movies that came out in 1992 are brand new; and I get sleepy at around 9:00 pm.. wait, what was I talking about? I need my joint ointment, my arthritis is acting up using all this Onlineweb.net.lbp.com computer.)

Dark side of the moon is better Thanks for replying. I agree with you and I don't think The Wall (even though it's great and I love it) is even their best album. But it tells a nice story and is the most appropriate for this kind of project. It's good to know people are showing interest. Making the songs shouldn't be all that hard (the original tutorial (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=48439-LBP2-Tutorial-Music-Transposing-to-music-sequencer&p=823744#post823744)): 1. Download Anvil Studio here (http://www.anvilstudio.com/); 2. Download MIDI Pink Floyd files (you can easily search for these on Google); 3. After opening a MIDI song with Anvil, choose which instrument you want to edit, and click "Edit track"; 4. Be sure the notes appear in "Piano roll", and the grid size is 1/32, to match the one in LBP2. This is the easiest way I know to transcribe music to LBP2. The problem is, it would take a LOT of time to do all songs, so if more than one person was working on each instrument, this would be much, much faster. Another thing: vocals, or voice acting with background music... - The problem with vocals, is that some songs use strong language and would need to be cut (e.g. In the Flesh II, The Trial); - The problem with normal dialogue, is that it wouldn't have the same impact and would lose (a bit) the point of this project, although it's probably the best decision. But a mix between the two options above could work as well. What do you guys think?
