Which is your favorite material?

My favorite material is the blue modelling clay material because it fits perfect with the blue modelling clay decoration when making things look like mountains or stones. http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/images/2/2c/Modelling_Clay_-_Blue.jpg Which is yours and why? EDIT: I must add one material, I just can't live without the hologram. | 2011-07-17 23:14:00 Author: Willman4 Posts: 170 |

Microchip. Does that count? It has the circuit board... If not then my favorite would be hologram because it lets you do so many things the others can't. | 2011-07-18 03:38:00 Author: Zero10100 Posts: 385 |

Holo... hands down! It is simply the most versatile of all our materials, and probably the most unused and un-tapped resource of all the materials as well. I'm doing things with holo that I haven't seen anyone else do yet, and have several other ideas that have sparked off of the previous one. I'm kind of a holo junky. | 2011-07-18 09:36:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |
Chrome, Holo or Dark Matter. I have lots. | 2011-07-18 09:45:00 Author: craigmond Posts: 2426 |

That calls for a tutorial. 1001 things you can do with holo. I'd love to read that. | 2011-07-18 11:03:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |

Holo is seriously epic, I'm building a snowy themed platformer and I'm messing around with the idea of snow, it looks amazing. But it takes up so mjch thermo space. A 30% full level overheating after 10 seconds of emitted white dots is a bit much. I've toned the amount and timing and it works fine now. | 2011-07-18 14:44:00 Author: abyssalassassin Posts: 717 |
I have to say White matter, it's the same as dark matter but it's more cleaner. | 2011-07-18 15:15:00 Author: zzmorg82 Posts: 948 |
Yes holo! They look cool, you canchange its color and they are so useful! Freaky clouds too though.. I think you should be able to change the color of all materials... Even if it had a "default" color that the chosen color mixed with :/ | 2011-07-18 17:58:00 Author: Dortr Posts: 548 |

:kz: Gekko Armor Plating. Can't make anything without it. EDIT: @Zero10100 I think that's from the Marvel Level Kit. EDIT2: Forgot to say why I liked it. Because it seems to be the best looking Metal Material out there to me. | 2011-07-19 06:45:00 Author: IronSkullKid99 Posts: 515 |
My favorites are : Holo because it is extremely versatile and has alot of epic uses.............. Neon because you can make it just about any color, is great for making stickers, and its great for costuming. | 2011-07-19 16:02:00 Author: Godzilla Posts: 224 |
:kz: Gekko Armor Plating. Can't make anything without it... Because it seems to be the best looking Metal Material out there to me. Same here. I use it in almost every vehicle I've ever made and I (over)use the gekko armor decos on everything too. It's my favorite for appearance, but I have to agree with all of the holo guys when it comes to functionality. | 2011-07-19 16:26:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
Holo and the wooden planks material from the POTC pack. | 2011-07-19 16:48:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
The brown pixel gradient wood, Its the best looking wood ever. Perfect for pools. | 2011-07-19 17:35:00 Author: Cactii Posts: 426 |
I'm going with Holo. You can just do so much with it. I also like plain cardboard. I've seen so many good levels that are just made from cardboard. | 2011-07-19 17:38:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
That calls for a tutorial. 1001 things you can do with holo. I'd love to read that. I started making a few tutorials while in the beta, but that got put on hold because I didn't want to put any out in such poor quality (I was just throwing my camera up in front of my TV). The past few weeks I've been looking into a better way of capturing so that I can start making tutorials just like this to share ideas with the community. Problem is, money is tight so I can't throw a ton of cash at the problem... but I'm hoping to get back to making Tutorials in the very near future. *crosses fingers* | 2011-07-20 01:54:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |
I wish that jiggly material on the Tree object was a selection. The tree that looks like the LBP logo in the "Scenic" category. It reminds me of a waterbed . I like shaking the tree around and watching it quiver | 2011-07-20 07:04:00 Author: Sackpapoi Posts: 1195 |
It's got to be Holo for me. It's so versatile. I'm also a fan of light matter in certain situations, and also Chrome and Dark Wood. There is another type of wood that I like, I think it's called Blue Wood. I find it useful for placing stickers on, because they show up clearly, and you can't see the texture of the material underneath. | 2011-07-20 10:16:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |
Guys, hologram is almost more of a tool than a construction material, don't you think? Of course none of us could live without holo, it's almost as much important of an addition as the controllinator and new logic system. Great Scott, can you people even imagine going back to LBP1 now? I'd be like trading a computer by an Etch-a-Sketch! | 2011-07-20 15:21:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
I don't think I could manage with LBP1.... I barely touched the create mode! It must have taken a lot more effort to do the logic for your levels! Us LBP2 creators have got it easy | 2011-07-20 19:36:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |
Of course none of us could live without holo... I dunno'. I used to do a lot of the stuff that we now use holo for with thin gas and I managed pretty well. You're right though, I haven't touched LBP since 2 came out and I wouldn't want to go back. | 2011-07-21 21:29:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |
Neon & Basic Cardboard. Essential for costume making. | 2011-07-22 19:49:00 Author: Shadowstarkirby Posts: 205 |
I agree with ShadowStarKirby- those two can make the most epiculiartastical costumes ever, especially Neon. But i just recognized one thing- the PoTC pack materials are popping up quite frequently. I like 'em too, but I don't know exactly why. | 2011-07-23 10:32:00 Author: Unknown User |
