Hey there great level i played this a couple days ago i thought it was a very different and interresting take on the weapon system and gameplay to normal top down shooters.
The weapons were good but it was awkward to drop them sometimes and pick up new ones you should try and use a system similar to SSTAGS where the same button drops and picks up weapons and swaps one in hand to one on the ground easily.

The extra collectables like grenades and ammo was also very good.
The terrain and look of the level was well done it was not to simple and had enough detail to look good.
One main problem i had was the fact you could die so easily as the aiming system seemed just a bit clunky and awkward for every two enemies i killed i got killed by the third.
The Boss was really well done but just a bit to hard though not really enough to be a problem. Chasing the enemy soldier was also a fun experience.

The Helicopter at the end was also very well done i had built a helicopter myself out of the same basic materials receently though mine is smaller and more of an attack copter than a transport vehicle.

I would like to see some of the vehicles destructable though.

Overall a very enjoyable level with a great look.

For F4F please try my Deadville Hollow level in my sig.

Hmm, I'll have to take a look at this.

BTW, I've redesigned the logic again, now significantly more organized, no bugs (afaik ), and less complex. If you're interested, just send me a message and we'll sort something out. The previous version of my design is in my level demo I posted here and in sig (I'll F4F in a few hours when I get on my PS3).

Just played through both tutorial and level. Great game.

Pros:
- Weapons (sounds, appearance, function)
- Enemies (sounds, reactions, etc)
- Gameplay (was entertaining, but...see below)
- Story (nothing too fancy, which is what I enjoy)

Cons:
- Scenery (was slightly bland - greys, browns, and yellows... and would definitely benefit from decorations)
- Controls (only the aiming was difficult, but like lordwarblade wrote, I died a lot from simply missing enemies)
- Could be so much more! (More enemies, weapons, explosions , 'sidequests' - was good, but seemed to be lacking a little bit of everything)

I'm a harsh critic in writing though, but don't see this as me not enjoying the level. I thought it was great.

Again, if you're interested, I'll show you my player design. Something I saw with your weapon 'carrying' was that when you rotated, the weapon lagged behind, especially noticeable when you sprint. I've solved this issue (surprisingly easy to fix), and like above, I'd be glad to show you my design... it's bizarre how similar it is to your own.

F4F: Just some ideas/thought on "The Mercenaries" (the level I referenced).
