Grrrrar, smash thermo!!

The thermo genuinely hates me! I spent nearly 2 hrs just now trying to fix 1 tiny prob which the therm was making very difficult.

It was an actor sequence (10 secs!), worked in my editor but not when published o.O tried to record it again and during rec it kept giving me thermo errors >.< so I've been deleting bits off my lvl and republishing it and testing to see if it works. Ofc sequence is at the end so it took awhile going thru it over and over.......

Anyway, after my poor lvl was ravished, it's working now.... I hope... At least on last online play it did...

I have a similar thermo problem in my level too. Deleting scenery didn't do a thing, the entire problem was in the sackbots. I had to delete them and just make then emit when they are supposed to be visible, and destroy then when you're out of range. I got rid of 25% of the thermo at any given moment, and you can't even see the transition, if you run back and forth all the sackbots will be acting in their places.2011-07-17 07:43:00

@sp0ngyraver thank you! put the last sackbot and vehicle on an emitter and errors stopped and got a full notch of thermo back, might be able to do a few tweaks I had planned thanks to this =]

It really helps to not have all the bots active at once, they always use a lot of thermo, and they can cause lag too.2011-07-17 22:21:00

Just had the 1 story character initially, as she reappears thru the lvl she is emitted but that was only done as she was in the air when joining back up with you, didn't actually realise how lighter it was on the game to do it that way. Well I guess I did to some degree, as I do have them despawn when they have done their bit... Guess it was late and the thermo was acting strange.

Good to still be learning tho

Now let's see if the bomb survival kiddies give it a chance. Or actually that's a bad idea, they won't get the puzzles (even tho they aren't that hard!)

Certain costume pieces use more thermo than others too. I changed some costumes to reduce the thermo a bit as well.2011-07-18 02:29:00
