3D glitch help

Archive: 15 posts

ok so ive searched the community and got the 3D layers for the foreground and backround but if i want to create multiple pillars in the backround...well i can't! i can cut back through the layers but lets say i wish to create a pillar in one layer...and move it through the backround layers...how would i do that? have i got the wrong 3D glitch thing? if so can anyone point me in the right direction or join me and help me out?

much appreciated.

To move an object through the background you need to keep switching from thick and thin. Every time it turns thick it will move out 1 layer. There is no way to move it back that I know2011-07-16 21:37:00

Am I right in thinking you have two tools? one for the fore ground and background? Because there is a third tool called a "cascade" which allows you to select individual layers and draw in them. Just search the community for it as it's pretty easy to obtain2011-07-16 22:03:00

Yup I think a Cascade will get your job done.

Comphermc has made an excellent video tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/user/LBPlanetorials#p/u/16/Ij--bJxovSk) on how to most effectively use this tool.

Enjoy

You need to filter your search by text from the cool levels page (triangle and scroll down). The stand alone text search is broken. Also did you search ths site, I got a nice set of layer tools from someone that posted here, sadly I can't remember their PSN.2011-07-16 23:11:00

Posts above are correct in that you should use a cascade. You can take a piece of thin layer all the way in the back, then change it's thickness similar to the regular levels. Everytime you move it into the thin layer, it moves forward one layer. Just experiment with a cascade a bit, I sucked at 3D tools a few weeks ago, but lately I have learned to make almost anything. It is hard to move objects in the 3d layers though, every 3d object takes up the entire 3d space, so you can't have moving 3d objects in front of other 3d objects, if that makes sense.2011-07-17 08:17:00

In addition to all the good advice above... I have a tutorial level with "take home notes" you can reference in game while you create: http://lbp.me/v/0b6hcn

POOKACHOO IM ACTUALLY USING YOURS! I'd recommend anyone else use pookachoo's cascade, they are very nicely colored and arranged. It's easy to just stick it in the air then select and copy the layer pieces you need. It's like having a 3d palette at your use.

lol, I didn't notice that my level had already been suggested. Once you open my tool in your level, capture it for easier use later. If you don't want the whole 30 layers front and back, you can just capture a smaller portion and it works the same way.2011-07-18 19:37:00
