How to make a sackbot roll
Archive: 17 posts
Hey guys, it's zzmorg82 here to show you how to make a sackbot roll It would help if you do this as you read this thread, it may make it easier for you to comprehend and make at the same time, if your able to at the moment First thing first, setup your sackbot with controllinator and make sure your able to control him. Step 1: Pull out a direction splitter. Then connect the L-Stick output into the input of the direction splitter. Step 2: Pull out 2 and gates and stack them together. Connect the + output to the top and gate, and connect the - output to the bottom and gate. Positive=Right Negative=Left Step 3: Connect any button outputs you want to make the sackbot roll(Ex: I want to roll with L1, so I took the L1 output and connected it to BOTH of the and gates.) Step 4: Pull out a timer and tweak it's settings to this: Target Time: 0.5s Current Time: 0.0s Input Action: Start Count Down Invert Output: No Length: 3.0x Electronics and Cable Visibility: Switch Visible After you tweak it to those settings, connect the TOP and gate to the timer. Step 5: Copy the timer and connect the BOTTOM and gate to it. Step 6: Pull out a mover and tweak it's settings to this: Left/Right Speed: 10.0 Up/Down Speed: 0.0 Local Space: X(Which means no) Acceleration: 100% Deceleration: 0% Input Action: On/Off Visible in Play Mode: Yes(Doesn't really matter -_-) After you tweak it to those settings, connect the TOP timer to the mover. Step 7: Pull out a rotater and tweak it's settings to this: Rotation Speed: 1,000 Acceleration: 100% Deceleration 0% Input Action: On/Off Visible in Play Mode: Yes(Like I said before, It doesn't matter -_-) After you tweak it to those settings, connect the TOP timer to the mover. Step 8: Copy BOTH the mover and rotator and tweak everything backwards(This is so that your sackbot can roll to the left): Mover: Left/Right Speed: -10.0 Up/Down Speed: 0.0 Local Space: X(Which means no) Acceleration: 100% Deceleration: 0% Input Action: On/Off Visible in Play Mode: Yes(Doesn't really matter -_-) Rotator: Rotation Speed: -1,000 Acceleration: 100% Deceleration 0% Input Action: On/Off Visible in Play Mode: Yes(Like I said before, It doesn't matter -_-) After you tweak their settings backwards, connect the bottom timer to bottom mover and rotator(Again, this is so that the sackbot can roll to the left). This is what it should look like when your done. And there you have it!!! A perfectly working sackbot roll. I will be doing more toturials later on | 2011-07-16 20:58:00 Author: zzmorg82 Posts: 948 |
you should also make it so you cant start a roll in the opposite direction till the first roll is complete, otherwise with that setup it will pause the roll till the first timer runs out, then do part of the opposite roll based on how much time is left on the second timer. you could use a NOR from the timers to interrupt one/some of the wires b4 the timers (there are many ways to do it) on the other hand you could just wire each timer into the other's reset input, which would cancel one when you start the other, but i'm pretty sure that would result in odd starting a stopping angles of the new roll | 2011-07-17 07:27:00 Author: evret Posts: 612 |
I made a video tutorial about this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te1qoDYKrT0 | 2011-07-18 00:13:00 Author: ScorpSkull Posts: 92 |
I made a video tutorial about this Yes but people are saying they can't roll to the left with your way. I just found an easier way to do it were you can roll to the right AND left. But your way is good aswell, I just find mine way the most effective way | 2011-07-18 14:44:00 Author: zzmorg82 Posts: 948 |

But your way is good aswell, I just find mine way the most effective way With my way you can roll to both sides. People just don't read everything so they do it wrong! | 2011-07-18 14:58:00 Author: ScorpSkull Posts: 92 |
Well maybe thats why he made an easier way. -_-' Thanks zzmorg. But silverscorp's way did work for me tough. so thx about that, too. | 2011-07-23 14:13:00 Author: TheGoldenFlash Posts: 209 |

(I think) is less logic.... No it's not. it's pretty much the same as his. but his was way more easy to understand then your Tutorial. | 2011-07-25 00:51:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |
@fumetsusozo Who care he didn't make this guide compare it with other. Thanks you zzmorg82. | 2011-07-25 02:33:00 Author: Sport_dude Posts: 622 |
No it's not. it's pretty much the same as his. but his was way more easy to understand then your Tutorial. That because he's was in a video, mines was text, most people have rotted brain cells from technology use so they can't understand anything in text....... | 2011-07-25 15:02:00 Author: zzmorg82 Posts: 948 |
That was a really helpful tutorial! I've been struggling with it for abit. xD I'm not that skilled with LBP2 logic in case you couldn't tell. lol Thanks for the tutorial zzmorg82! | 2011-07-25 19:31:00 Author: Unknown User |
That because he's was in a video, mines was text, most people have rotted brain cells from technology use so they can't understand anything in text....... I had read yours just fine. and i understood both of your guy's Tutorials. but before i posted , you said your logic was more simple&easy. and I'm saying it's not. your guy's logic is pretty much the same besides that he showed two ways you could do it in the video. I'm not here to say who's is best. I'm commenting on what you said to him. | 2011-07-25 19:51:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |

I just meant to say that a video formatted tutorial is the most easiest to understand because it's a visual, not a text(like mine) I just found a different way to do the roll so that's why I posted it. People were saying that SilverScorp's way wasn't rolling to the left so but I know my way will Both of our tutorials are good and helpful, just made differently | 2011-07-26 14:33:00 Author: zzmorg82 Posts: 948 |
I'm not that skilled with LBP2 logic in case you couldn't tell. lol Thanks for the tutorial zzmorg82! lol, alot of us aren't, you welcome | 2011-07-26 14:36:00 Author: zzmorg82 Posts: 948 |
lol, alot of us aren't, you welcome I am, but not all of us can be perfect like me... ... Back on subject, thanks for adding to our ever growing library of tutorials! It doesn't matter if one is easier to understand. It is all perspective. Doing something a different way makes your brain batter. Perspective is what made the leap from LTTP to OOT | 2011-07-27 14:02:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
Not all of us can be perfect like me. Haha, rub it right in our faces! xD | 2011-07-28 19:07:00 Author: TheGoldenFlash Posts: 209 |
Are you really arguing over which is the easier tutorial? Wow... xD How about you both just agree to disagree? | 2011-08-17 01:21:00 Author: Speedynutty68 Posts: 1614 |
