Girl's Room (http://lbp.me/v/3f9y86)
UPDATE ver.1.3: http://lbp.me/v/3f9y86

A girl catches you sneaking into her room for the last time...

Gameplay: about 5-10 minutes.
HOWEVER! It's got quite a lot of replay value.

Recommend playing it once casually, then go again and try to do things differently.

There's no learning curve or specific progression, it's a bit abstract, and meant for fun. Just use a bit of trial and error if you feel "stuck". Each room is just a simple puzzle to get out. They overlap and share qualities, so feel free to try and break it!

Lots of hidden quirks. 8 total rooms, with over 12 pathways. Please have fun, and happy gadding!

Best regards.

i just played it and honestly firstly i have to say ..its very short, will it ever be bigger or is it a case of doing a few different levels following the same story? the story was actually really good and it had some nice quirky humor. it felt like a mixture of Saw/Cube and dexters laboratory (because of the idea of a secret room or rooms) the traps in the level were quite clever but i honestly got through them very easily and quickly. i really liked the level but it could do with being about twice as long with more varied and harder puzzles other than that its lots of fun! good job arbiekko = )

i really liked how destructible and well decorated the bedroom was = )

Thanks for your feedback! I toned down the original puzzles after testing revealed that people quit on the level after about 5 seconds of getting stuck. There's a "sweet spot" to level length where a player seems to be frustrated not just because of the puzzle, but because they can't really judge difficulty until after they've solved an area, and if there's a sense of going through about 30 rooms (my original intention) they get tired and angry. But I'm catering to players who may be very, very young as well as impatient... heh...

This particular level won't be longer, it's indeed very short, but with helpful feedback like yours I know better how to proceed. It's the introduction to the series. There's a possibility I'll go back and add points to give players a bigger sense of reward. For now, I focused on getting the player in the rooms (story/premise) and will see who likes it.

Thanks and best!

oh i think i found all 8 rooms but most of the exits i found were on the left side of the screen, the bounce pad part doesn't sound too familiar perhaps i missed it? ..hmm maybe i only found 7 rooms. i have to admit i'm curious now lol, that's a great way to inspire people to go back and play it. i have seen levels before that claimed to be different each time but that does actually sound like it genuinely works, i'll probably go back again to have a look! i think i found it easy because i have been playing a lot of harder levels lately with strong puzzle elements = )2011-07-17 01:20:00

I love hard puzzle levels and punishing platformers as a player, but as a creator I guess I have a weakness for going soft. My skin is very thin so I dislike inviting criticism through difficult play, choosing instead to create replayable levels with various fun elements.

Let's be friends! I'd like to join you for a play session, you sound like you know your way around some really good levels and I could really use the insight!

after seeing the secret rooms (thanks for the guided tour!) i have to say there is nothing wrong with the length of the level its brilliant. i really enjoyed the extra game play and no doubt the hidden rooms would add some nice replayability to the level - awesome = )2011-07-17 13:47:00
