Japanese Language Pack! 日本語パック!

Archive: 8 posts

There doesn't seem to be any decent Japanese character sets out there in LBP so I decided to make one. The final level will include a complete set of hiragana and katakana characters along with some kanji and punctuation marks to use in your own levels.

Hiragana:

Some example text using the above characters:

If you'd like a specific kanji to be added just let me know here. <3

I've added about 50 kanji so far now. I was just wondering if people would like me to include notes for what each one means and if they'd like me to record some audio of how to pronouce the syllabary, so you'd select a character like か and it'll go "ka!" or something XD

Cool, I hope you find it useful!

I don't know if it's possible, but you could make it so the user writes English words, and then they're translated to Japanese

That, would be awesome.

That sounds complicated though it might be possible to make a dictionary thing where you select an English word from a list and it displays the Japanese equivalent. Imagine the logic @_@

I published the fonts btw, check it out! http://lbp.me/v/34xdrf

Can read some of them, though I'm taking chinese
the kanji is saying day of month, month, then i forgot the rest until the end of the line where it goes big, small and then the rest i dont know until the end of the line where it says study, character then the next line says person, male, female, son, not sure about the next two but then the lst one is country and then its 1-6... is that right?

I'm taking Japanese class... I (think I) can read some of this. ^

1: Day, 2: Month in the first line;
1: Tree(?), 3: Forest(?), 5: Mountains in the second line;
1: Person, 3: Female(?) in the third line;
And the fourth line characters are the numbers one to six.

Anyone else finding Japanese incredibly difficult to learn? I know I am...

Generally, yes, though they can change depending on the context they're used in.

Since this thread was bumped here are some photos from the full level which features more characters.

These have now been used in a number of levels. Some Japanese Touhou levels I played a while ago used them extensively.
