Final Fantasy XI Logic Tuterial (Breadcrum Advanced Follower)

Archive: 3 posts

This logic has been polished to the best standers to meet Final Fantasy XI Online gameplay.
To try out the gameplay check out,

Final Fantasy XI Online "La Platheau1" RPG Gameplay

Lets say you want a enemy to follow you without crashing into the landscapes and objects you have in your level. What you need is breadcrum follower logic. ^^

When you get followed by a enemy it will follow your sackbots path that you leave behind. So anywhere a player can go freely a enemy can go also. If you go around a hill the enemy can also.

First you need a sackbot and a Enemy

Enemy:

Make sure you tweek the Gravity options to your liking. Make sure it can follow.

I have my follower at:

Follower mico
3.0, Yes to up and down, Yes to in and out movements, Flee X, Strength 100%, Input power,

Minim range is where you want your enemy to stop following you if your too lose. Make sure to make it bigger if you jump on the enemy and makes you fly.

Add a Tag Name. Lets say Follow Red sackbot

Next step make a square hologram and add a tag in the middle of it. This should be red sackbot tag.
Also add a Anti Graity Tweaker so its stiff when it gets emited. Also add a Gyroscope for more stiffness. This will prevent emite glitches.

Next step is to make a sackbot and add a emiter on the sackbots micochip

Add the following on the emiter

0.0, 0, X, 0.6, 0.0, Unlimited, 6, Yes, Appear, Dissapear

It should emite right in the middle of the sackbot.

Add another Red sackbot tag right on the micochip of the sackbot for extra following support.

Thats it. Some of you might have some problems adjusting it to your levels.
