Why has no one replied yet? Sheesh... Anyway! Hey Alleycat. You asked me for some feedback on your movie, and I couldn't fit it in a PSN message! So I figured, what better place than here.

?Just played through two of your levels. Wow. I wanted to send this before I carried on so I could critique your movie for you. Before I start, I really did think it was fantastic ? so please don't take offence at any small things I might suggest. But being a creator who's obviously grown through feedback, I'm not worried about that.

First of all, the beginning scene with the bad guy (krowbar was it?) and his men was good, but see my first point about 'idle action' below.

Next, where you pan over the village to show the calm before the storm is very well done ? great sound direction, giving an uneasy sense of what's to come. I would have kept it a little shorter, perhaps using smoother transitions, but that isn't to say that it doesn't work well the way it already is.

When the invasion begins, the sudden stab of music is very effective ? very well done.

Attacks etc are good ? varied and widespread, which gives you a real sense of the destruction these people are causing.

Now I come on to my point about 'idle action'. I have no idea if there's an actual term for it in moviemaking. I suppose it would be ?Extras direction? or somesuch. Anyhow ? the soldiers that aren't technically doing anything to advance the scene should still be doing something. That isn't to say that you should spend an inordinate amount of time sequencing complex actions for them ? you've already gone halfway there by having them run in different directions and varying their actions slightly. However, when they stand still ? they should still do something. I find the easiest way to satisfy this is to change their chips to ?Look around?. This will be especially useful in your case as they should watch the soldiers running past them, turn their heads to look at whoever is speaking, and so on.

You needn't do much more than this really, unless you really want to. Your extras are supposed to fade into the background after all. I suppose I just get nitpicky when a movie is this good

Next, Mt Kalan. Again ? stunning scenery here. It really give a sense of the scale of the place. The landslide is good, well choreographed. The only suggestion I could make here is to perhaps add a very low rumble (quite loud) sound effect, to give more sense of drama and earth-shakiness.?

That's about it really ? I'm being truly nitpicky here, overall I thought it was a fantastic intermission scene. Very well done indeed ? Yayed and hearted

Hey Rialrees,

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I like all the suggestions you made and will implement them sometime this week. I'm wondering does the look around option correspond with their awareness radius? So if someone is talking outside that radius they won't look at them? But yeah, Thanks again for the feedback I really appreciate the tips.

Yup that's right Alley - outside of a certain radius it wont affect them, but say if another soldier runs in front, they SHOULD turn to look at them. To the best of my recollection anyway...

Once more, you're very welcome. It was a pleasure to play all three new installments!
