FFVII Cloud Sackbot Demo!

Worked awhile on this, hopefully you'll enjoy it.

It's not complete, but if it receives enough attention(or I feel like it. XD) I'll continue work on it.
Currently planning on making a boss to fight(one who can counter you!).

I may even work on a second character(likely Tifa?) for a second person to play at the same time. However, that's likely far off from now.

It's not perfect, of course, but please be kind in comments and/or criticism.

EDIT: Due to feedback (from Ruzzyman, thanks) I am planning to also make a HUD of some kind. Hopefully it won't be too difficult.

Ok, played this just now.

It's a good start, but not perfect. I liked the look of the sackbot, but i guess it's from the recent FF7 custome pack . The abailites were good. An attack, a combo, a guard, 2 materias that can be combined with attacks, there's a lot of choice . The major issue I have was that it's difficult to control. I cannot find the right words as english is not my native language, but it have a weird feeling, the links between the attacks fell strange, and some move too. I guess it's really difficult to to this so do not take it bad, but if you have room for imporvmeents, it would be on the "feel" of attacks.

The materias especially are hard to use. The choice of buttons for the fire is difficult to do.

Great music really liked it, remembers me good old time playing FF7

I won't talk aout the sceneries, it's kind of empty. Maybe you could improve this part, but it's still in test so it's ok.

Overall it's a good start, but it needs polish to be really cool

Thanks. Yeah, the level's mostly to show off the Sackbot, not my level designing capabilities(which stink).

As for the difficulty, well, it's meant to be something where if you're better at it, you can get through the level faster and fancier.
The controls may seem a bit weird, but the aiming for the Fire Materia is the same I use in my other Sackbot levels, and, well, it works.
Both materia are useable at the same time, practically, if you can control both.

There's also some special combos if you do stuff properly, such as (Holding right)+Square, Circle, Square, Mash Circle, which'll fire a sword beam upwards instead of in front of you. Experimentation!

Also, there's a known issue with the aerial spinning slash - sometimes it'll "break," so to speak, and when it's used you'll keep spinning for awhile. I dunno why or how - sometimes it happens and will stay with you the whole level, and if it doesn't happen within like the first minute, then it won't happen at all, or somesuch.
I don't know why it would do that, really, considering the programming I've given it.. Ah well. Hopefully I'll be able to find the issue that causes it. It's uncommon, though, don't worry.

Well, lets see...

The visuals weren't good, at all, but with this being a beta test, I can cut you some slack.

The sackbot itself was very fun! Always fun to go around murdering people with a giant sword!

The materias were REALLY hard to control. Dx Well, at least the lighting one. I would say, make it so it uses the left analog stick, and when you hold, say, down on the d-pad... Make it disable walking so you can aim better. (:

Not very many real bugs! I can tell you spent a lot of time on this, and it payed off. Can't wait to see what you make next!

Well, you can use both Materia at about the same time if you know how, which is something in favor of the strange setup..
