You see the chicken was on a quest given to him by the emperor. He needed to slay the mighty green dragon. Now on his journey he came across this road. The road was scorching hot, and would burn his feet if he were to stay on it to long. He tried to walk around it, but the road was seemingly endless. Since chickens cannot fly this one had to walk, and without thumbs, this chicken walked accross.
