A quick question (hopefully)

Now, I've been noticing a great many levels using the invisible walls and floors. I've tried and tried with the supposed "Dark matter invisible walls" this has, time and time again, resulted in an undesirable effect of random black patches in place of a true invisible wall.

After playing a level I can't recall the name of, where in you walk on sketches in a flat layer behind you, and playing a number of levels with smoothly working invisible walls, I have come to the conclusion that there is another method out there. I was hoping someone could enlighten me, as it would be of great help in creating some of the effects i would very much like to make in my upcoming level (Primarily a "plasma" bridge (made of holo-panels yet still being solid when active so players can walk across it) Thank you in advance.

you have to shrink the shape down as small as you can then keep holding it for a little longer but even then it becomes visible for me if i don't make a completely straight line2011-07-10 19:45:00

So then it is purely the micro-sizing of dark mater. Darn.. i was really hoping there was a translucent alternative.

I was just about to post a thread asking how people are making invisible plasma, I think the link Aya posted is the way?2011-07-10 22:37:00

There is also a glitched invisible material. I might hand it out. Maybe.2011-07-10 22:47:00

I have the glitched invisible material and the only drawback is that it leaves a shadow. At least the one I have does. And, if I lethalize it, the lethality component is visible.2011-07-10 22:53:00

I mean a twisted one. If you twist a material a lot, it turns completely invisible.2011-07-10 22:54:00

So as far as everyone knows, there is no SHADOWLESS invisible material glitch which can be walked on? I mean... normally I'm against the use of any glitch.. but MM seems to have forgotten to include it legitimately... much like a lot of things that should be basic tools.2011-07-11 03:08:00

The link I posted should work just fine - it's been the most commonly used method in LBP1 and LBP2 for two years.

There are a couple of other methods, but that's probably the simplest and most flexible.

Overlay it with 0% brightness holo that is plasmafied.

Only if you can find the dark matter!

I found that if you make dark matter that smallest it can be possible and place it in straight lines with tiny gaps in between them, it's completely invisible (well besides the shadow).2011-07-11 19:18:00

From the same post...

To change the material, you must resize the material until it's big enough to see again, but you can shrink it down after that. The same applies for invisible hazards.

...so you have to enlarge it, lethalize, then shrink again.
