One word: Weather Levels would look so much better if they had climate control option in LBP2. You could make it stormy or cloudy or snowing or extremley humid. You could change it to a mild pour or a mass thunder storm of raging destruction. There could also be a temperature switch/sensor. Example: Make an ice cream cone and but a temperature sensor and connect it to a destroyer on it. Activate the temperature switch to sunny. When you pull the switch, the ice cream will melt. This could open many possibilities and a variety of wonderful level creations. | 2011-07-10 19:30:00 Author: GreenGhost28 Posts: 85 |

I would LOVE to be able to create storms in LBP that randomly strike tree sackpeople, skyscrappers, etc! especially if there were a lightning sensor. | 2011-07-10 21:03:00 Author: LBNinja Posts: 204 |
I figured weather would be an aesthetic option like lighting. Figuring out some way to implement functional lightning could be interesting though, I suppose. Since we're discussing climate control, why not also put Seasons out there? Granted, that would probably require a lot of retooling for existing themes, and I suppose again that weather could be used to suggest seasons, such as snow obviously forming in winter. And in case anyone's suggesting windy weather, there is the concept of wind as a standalone level setting where it lightly or strongly pushes objects in one direction or another. Yet again though I suppose there can be a purely aesthetic wind in windy weather settings for those who'd like the windy effect without the nuisance of wind force. Maybe they could introduce weather control as part of a DLC pack that centers around a nefarious doctor's plot to control the weather in Craftworld with a machine? It could count as a sort of mini-theme similar to the story themes. Not relevant to weather, but your lightning sensor suggestion gave me an idea: the Hazard Sensor. Yes, I know there's already a Tag Sensor that could fulfill the same purpose, but wouldn't it be cool to have a sensor that can detect fire, electricity, or plasma independent of whether it's a bullet or lethal object? That to me would be much more precise than simply labeling a Tag and placing it on a hazardous object. If nothing else, it'd save time. | 2011-07-10 21:27:00 Author: Brandon Posts: 106 |
