ok, so i'm going to sound stupid when i ask this... how do you get the text to do subtitles? it seems to be greyed out and i can't use it

put the magic mouth on a sequencer and the option becomes visible, it may also work if the mouth is set to cutscene but I'm not too sure about that...

put the magic mouth on a sequencer surely though, you should be able to use it without a sequencer? or is it entirely dependant upon it? edit: or is it that it needs some kind of external input, like a battery or something similar to activate it?

Sorry to disappoint you but a sequencer's the only way. It's logical, too! Just by the tweak menu would mean subtitle would be there forever... but with a sequencer you can set it to display stuff for a specific amount of time. You're welcome. LOL

I is possible to attach the mouth to a timer that counts down so it would only last as long as you want it to but it is so much easier to be on a sequencer so there are no accidental set offs. The sequencer is a wonderful tool to put lighting and background noises on. I've even put sequencers inside music sequencers with lights and tags and cameras to make all sorts of neat special effects. Play around with it, you are only limited by your imagination.
