Weird Sound Problem. Related to LBP2 maybe?

Archive: 13 posts

I have had it happen to me twice on LBP2, both times in Create Mode on LBP2. Both times, I brought out a song made with the music sequencer. All of a sudden, out of the blue I have no sound at all (don't hear anything, no one talking or anything). THe only way to fix the problem was to reboot my PS3 and it worked fine after that. Is this an LBP2 problem or could there be something wrong with my PS3 (I hope not)? Thank you....

A friend of mine told me it has happened to him before but that was a long time ago and his PS3 works fine.

Yes, I've had this glitch happen many times. Seems to happen when there is custom music sequencers around and for some reason in the level I'm currently working on it does it when I'm messing with the corner editor on that rusty steel material from time to time. Nothing to do except the restart.

I don't think it's a ps3 hardware problem, more likely a LBP2 glitch.

Yes, I too have has this happen... too many times! My monitor just goes 'pop' then no sound... at all! Even when playing other games/doing other stuff. A re-boot is definitely necessary 2011-07-07 20:58:00

Yes its happens to me a few times and has nothing to do with the ps3. You don't need to reboot your ps3 either. Just quit the game and then go back into it. Should be fine. Works for me. I can also confirm it only happens it create mode but I can't confirm it has something to do with the music sequencer. Sometimes it it happens to me when I'm not even using it2011-07-07 22:11:00

Every time I quit the game to fix it, it automatically restarts the PS3......unsettling, yes. I always make sure I have a backup before I do it.2011-07-07 22:33:00

D: This happens to me too, but has only happened in Community levels. A song tries to load and............blam I cant hear anybody, any sound, any music, and when rebooting LBP2, it restarts my entire PS3 o.o then asks if I want to send a problem report to Sony. So weird....but the sound comes back again, wish MM would fix it though.2011-07-08 17:31:00

Yeah, that's what I was hoping would happen in 1.04 but alas, it's just caused more problems

I had that happen a lot with my last level, but only in create, never during the published version. I totally panicked the first time, but it always goes back to normal after I quit.2011-07-09 22:09:00

I had a similar problem. There was not any music in my pod, then I noticed if a magic mouth activated, the sound would cut out until it was deactivated. Also would happen with sound objects, music, and surprisingly, some logic.2011-07-09 23:35:00

This is a glitch. Have you put it in the LBP2 bugs list?2011-07-14 14:56:00

Just noticed on the official notes for update 1.05 that they say they've fixed this bug. If anyone still has it happen after downloading the patch post here but it should be fixed now. Yay!
