Factory Mayhem

Archive: 5 posts

I brainstormed for ideas for my second level and settled on a factory where various aspects of the production line are broken and need to be fixed. There won't be too much platforming involved, just puzzles to solve. Right now I am just in the phase where I am getting my ideas down on paper, and experimenting with some basic elements.

I would like to put in TV monitors with scenes from the factory, but can't find anything on forums or Youtube that talk about this.

Any ideas?

Use a thin hologram with a sticker placed on it? Seems like the easiest way to do it 2011-07-09 05:27:00

What do you mean by hologram. I have not heard of those before.2011-07-17 01:15:00

I think holograms are in LBP2. Anyway, the simplest and most common way is to just take a picture of the scene and sticker it onto the monitor. If you want to be extra creative, you could miniaturize the section you want video of and have it run within the monitor. This is less likely to work unless uou use big t.v's as stuff tends to get mishappen when it is smaller. I've never done it personally but if you could find a way to do that that would look cool I think.

I've decided to build this level with LBP2. Since it is going to be a puzzler level, the logic is getting insane. I've watched some videos that show the tools available in the new version and decided to wait. In the mean time I am planning improvements to my first level, http://lbp.me/v/z5y83j (Are we there Yeti?). Had some great feedback, and learned new ways of building elevators.2011-07-30 12:37:00
