The Sheriff's Challenge

Archive: 5 posts

My first level is a journey through a Bajan wasteland. It is a timed race through a an obstacle course that increases in difficulty. Elements are inspired from all over the LittleBigPlanet story, including the infamous rotating drum from the bunker.

I would much appreciate a fair rating (hopefully 5 stars, but be fair nonetheless) and maybe a like.

Cool level! I appreciated that you included one element that I truly dislike (the stairstep poles) since I usually fall off them many times. It felt like a "best of" level, like you described. The music was perfect for the race style of the level. The only suggestion I have is that you might want to make some of the single layer obstacles across two, or possibly three layers to give multiplayers a better chance of keeping up with each other.

The only "problem" I had was that I fell through a crack of some sort just before I entered the giant wheel of doom and bypassed that part completely. I say "problem" because I hated that part of the bunker level. I eventually managed to get past it and finish the game, but it was the hardest element in the game for me.

Let me know if you find the problem and are able to fix it. I will play it again. Please try my level "Are we there Yeti" http://lbp.me/v/z5y83j and let me know what you think.

I liked your version of the wheel. It was much easier, but it still had me cursing at it. The level was put together pretty well. The materials you used on the wave went together pretty well. It looked cool. Rated 4 stars and hearted.

I'd like feedback for this level: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=58799-The-Sushi-Adventure

This level is what I'd like to call a compilation level. However, although you supposedly spent quite some time putting it together, it doesn't quite feel like it. When using MM objects, you should really try to make the gameplay flow. That's kind of what's missing in this level. You can address this issue by either putting less difficult gameplay elements in it, or by better tuning the elements into each other. Basically it comes to reducing the pauses when failing a certain element. It's not fun when you keep dying because of one difficult element and then die in another because it's as difficult as the first one. Another rather large issue was the wheel of death and the glass window in front of it. Because of it, I couldn't see a thing and I kept dying there over and over again. The original wheel was hard enough as it was and not seeing anything doens't exactly improve the situation.

For more information on how to be a better Creator, you should check out the level "How not to make a level". It was really useful and I can recommend it to anyone who has just begun creating levels.

I hope my feedback was useful. Feel free to play and provide feedback on my level: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=59483-Tubular-Bells-Mike-Oldfield-%28Exorcist-theme%29

You just had to put in another Big Wheel Of Frustration, didn't you?

It was fun, and as someone mentioned above, it felt a little bit like a "best of."

Although the rainbow smashing pillars were pretty, they didn't seem to fit with the rustic Mexican feel of he environment for me. The same can be said for the wave of pillars near the end.

During the Big Wheel Of Frustration, The fire sections looked like just a thin layer instead of a full three layers, and it just seemed odd.

Thanks for sharing your level! Feel free to check out my levels and give me your feedback!
