2011 Summer Movies

Archive: 24 posts

What are your favorite movies from this summer, and what ones have you seen so far?
Which ones are you looking forward to?

Personally, I am really looking forward to Captain America and Harry Potter 7 Part 2. ( I got tickets to see HP7(Part 2), I am seeing the first part in the theater and then the second right after. It will be amazing!)

I've seen: Thor, X-Men: First Class, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Green Lantern.

I really want to see Super 8 still.

How about you?

I really had high hopes for this summer. I really did.

But then I saw "Cowboys & Aliens" come out in theaters...

Same, Cars 2 got a low rating from most reviewers. The days when Pixar = 100% Quality are over.

But think about it: With Pixar, all of their movies have different crews every time. Hopefully the next Pixar movie will be better.

I was looking forward to Cowboys Vs. Aliens, because of Harrison Ford, but I'm not really expecting it to be an AMAZING movie, just one that will be a little entertaining.

Anything with action and a some dry humor makes a great summer movie. Well, maybe not everything...2011-07-08 16:44:00

It's my birthday next week (15th July), and I'm going to the cinema. What do you guys think I should see, other than Harry Potter, because it'll be packed and most of my friends don't like it.2011-07-08 16:57:00

Cars 2, call me a hypocrite, but I loved it, the critics can go to hell. Then again, might be my nostalgia towards all things Disney... Either way, hope you find a good movie, and Happy Birthday!2011-07-08 17:21:00

I've watched all the Pixar movies, and Cars honestly was my least favorite of them all. It just wasn't very appealing to me and it never really sounded interesting. I still love every Pixar movie, but I'm still interested in watching Cars 2.

I've only seen the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie so far, and I have to say, it surprised me. I thought the third movie was terrible, but the fourth movie redeemed it. I can't wait for a fifth.

I'm looking forward to seeing Super 8, looks awesome!

Fourth Pirates was good, liked all the different elements in had.

I think Thor was awesome, but it definitely had the problem of trying to do too many things in it's running time.

Super 8 was exactly what you'd expect from Abrams and Spielberg. Great movie.

Just saw Transformers 3. I had recognized that Bay was sometimes too excessive, but wow. That dragged on. Still decent.

Transformers 3 dragged on for far too long, but still I found it very entertaining. The last hour or so is just massive.

I didn't get the negative (or at least mixed) reactions from Pirates 4. For me, it's my favourite one yet (except for the first).

Just got back from the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

In short, best movie in the series. Crazy intense, and the dialogue is very well done.

I've always found the "kid" actors (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson etc) a bit annoying, but I love the series none the less. I didn't see part 1, so I'm having doubts whether to wait till the both come to dvd.

Their acting is much better in part 1 & part 2 of the deathly hallows, as is everything else. Part 1 & 2 are both excellent movies in the franchise, and you should definitely watch part 1, then see part 2 in theaters.

^ Why didn't Pooh just use the height of the hunny pots to grab the honey hive? 2011-07-16 11:33:00

He doesn't think logically. Much like myself, that Pooh.

Anyway, just seen HP part 1 on dvd and thought that, although very entertaining, nothing really happened. I suppose that was the problem with splitting the book into two parts. The last part should be better, of what I've been hearing.

Kung Fu Panda 2 was very funny. Rise of the Planet of the Apes looks like it will be worth a watch. 2011-07-16 13:43:00

HP Deathly Hollows pt. 2 was beastly. I'd say more, but don't want to spoil anything.2011-07-16 14:26:00

Deathly Hallows Part 2 deserves the high rating it's getting on Rotten Tomatoes, so awesome! =D

Can't wait for Captain America this friday. Not only is the trailer to Amazing Spider-Man attached to it, but the after-credits scene is actually a teaser trailer for The Avengers!

Winnie the Pooh was a good movie... a bit short, but oh-so nice.

+1 for the theme song

I thought it was EPIC! I saw the premiere too, but I saw both parts back to back in the theater.

I got in line 3 hours before I had to go in, and got the best seats. Right in the middle of the theater. I can't wait to go see another premiere movie!
