There have been a lot of mods over the years. Check the opening post in that link I left for a list of retired mods.

I see. Soo. All those people showed there devotion to the community and level headed post to become one ? What did you do. I feel like trying to become a mod. But that just implies that I'm desperate.

Well personally I gave a lot of feedback on levels, was welcoming to new members, volunteered a year and a half on the spotlight crew, and generally spent a lot of time on the site interacting with the community. Mods are selected when needed by the admin. There is no application process per se. Become a positive, active member of the community and one day you may be considered for a position but it takes a while to establish yourself and show you have the skills to handle the job requirements.

Its not necessary to do that, all you need to do is be nice, dedicated, helpful and not spam to raise post count. (*Hint hint*)

But that just implies that I'm desperate. From what I understand, "trying" to be a mod will merely ensure that you won't ever be a mod. I mean, I guess I can't say or know for sure, but I'd assume that asking how you can be made a mod would mean that you want to be a mod merely for the sake of being a mod, i.e. power or whatever. Sorry to be blunt, but CC's really strict when it comes to making people mods... in terms of making sure the mods he hires weren't trying to be mods but were merely being respected and helpful members of the community. So sorry to be blunt, but ya. :/

He has been dreaming of a position in the Mod Squad forever, but because of his sharp tongue and dry sense of humor, has been passed over time and time again.

None of the mods you listed seems mature from there names personally. Not sure what you can really tell from a name, but if you're interested, the average age of the four active mods is 30. Doesn't necessarily mean we're "mature" tho'.

I think at one time, warlord_evil said he wanted to change his name, but it kind of stuck with him The mods are really cool people and are always nice to all members. Dedication to the site is definitely one of the outstanding qualities all mods have. I believe being an active member of the site for an extended amount of time is important, but there are some people who have been here since 2008 (like RockSauron, me, and many others) who have not ever been a mod. I think it's because we're undeniably rude and incredibly vicious to everyone because we're sick of people. :]
