HAMMER OF THE GODS A young Viking warrior is awoken to the sounds of his village being torn asunder. His people being slaughtered, the casualties of the war of the Gods. Ragnarok has begun. Act 1: MIDGARD Escape the village and reach the sacred cave of Thor Odinson?s birth. There you will find the tool that you will need to take the battle to the Gods. Act 2: YGGDRASIL Reach the world tree, which connects the realms. Ascend through perilous traps and villainous hordes to reach the Bifrost Bridge that leads to Asgard. Act 3: ASGARD Odin?s once proud home has been taken by Loki and his Frost Giants. Now is the time to stop Loki and prevent an eternity of his vile rule. So, here it is. I don't recommend playing this multiplayer. It was designed for single players only. Thanks to Shookie for beta testing and for adding some platforming goodness to Act 2. Thanks to FlyingIrishman for giving this techtard some words of advice about logic?..and thanks to everyone else who has contributed through words of encouragement or other means of support. http://lbp.me/v/2h3x5x http://lbp.me/v/2h3yzr http://lbp.me/v/2h4zqj http://lbp.me/v/http://lbp | 2011-07-03 02:49:00 Author: jerry Posts: 47 |

If you folks don't play this then you are missing out on one of the best trilogies in lbp. The character design is unbelievable and its a must play. Not because of my contribution either. If you have played my comp level, this is the creator who made Blackbeard's head. Do not look past these levels. Easily spotlight worthy and even mm pick worthy. Puts my comp level to shame. | 2011-07-03 04:12:00 Author: shookie99 Posts: 447 |

This is one EPIC trilogy. Right from Act 1 the player is presented with some well crafted architecture and clever use of the 3D glitch. I particularly liked the huts in Act 1. Then Act 2 starts with a boss fight (very original). This wolf style boss is very well designed. It doesn't appear "blocky" like so many bosses do, but rather something you might expect to see in a Pixar movie. From there on lots of exploring and platforming to be done. Admittedly this part seems to have Shookies trademark on it, with lots of layer jumping in and out of nooks and crannies. Then some clever obstacles with swinging axes and bounce pads. And then Act 3. It took me 2 goes to work out what to do here. But once I got underway it took on a whole different feel. Unsure if you played Baulders Gate on the PS2 but this reminded me alot of that with the camera angles looking down on the player. Clever duel weapons using the lightning strike and hammer throw. Halfway through this the life indicator started spinning around furiously. I then got stuck, and eventually lost patience. However as I said before this is a truly epic trilogy. Personally, after this competition is over, I would like to see you release Act 3 as its own stand alone level, as I found it took me over 20 minutes to get through the whole trilogy. This is probably why the play numbers drop from Act 1 to Act 2, and from Act 2 to Act 3. Its a shame that a lot of the people that play Act 1 are missing out on the goodness of Act 3. Smiley faced and hearted on all 3. | 2011-07-04 09:26:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
@ MicGorbachev Yep, Ive played Baulders Gate and thats what I was going for.....an rpg style. I actually wanted to make it more like the gauntlet games that came out on the gamecube. I also wanted the topdown section to be MUCH longer but alas, the thermo thought otherwise. That's the problem with making detailed creatures and characters....it takes up a ridiculous amount of thermo, leaving not much room for gameplay. So, I always have to struggle with that. Yeah, there may be some problems to be worked out with the controllinator. I've never tried to do anything like that before so it was alot of trial and error. It's still not perfected. It's hard to tell how many people finish the levels with the scoreboards being down. It's funny though. I've heard there were a few bugs in act 3 but none came up during beta testing. I had 4 different people testing and none of the stuff that people are reporting was ever discovered. Weird. | 2011-07-04 17:04:00 Author: jerry Posts: 47 |
I am proud to announce that this trilogy is officially the winner of the LBN Legends competition. Jerry, psn the_hog_flu has won a crown for this achievement and a free game. Congrats jerry, you deserved it. Also, the runner ups were brucethejam and micgorbachev, so congrats to them as well! | 2011-07-25 19:51:00 Author: shookie99 Posts: 447 |
Just recently played this series (except Part 3..not yet at least). This was one great series. Everything was wonderfully designed. Gameplay was challenging at times, but not unfair. Part 1 did show some lag, but it is a minor issue and I am sure that cannot be helped because of the complexity of the level. I am not an expert on Norse mythology, but I really enjoyed the first two parts. I'm sure I'll enjoy the third part when I play it (which will be soon). Overall, one solid game. In part 2, I could not believe that you created all of that complexity and not have the level overheat. Good work and congratulations on winning the competition. | 2011-07-27 05:30:00 Author: Garak101 Posts: 101 |
Great little series i only played the first two so far but will play the third sometime soon hopefully. I really liked the detail of the levels and the dying guy at the end of act one was really done well. The dragon in Act two was the best thing so far i really liked the mean look you gave its eyes and face. I draw dragons a lot so appreciate a well crafted dragon with personality in its face. | 2011-07-29 13:12:00 Author: Lordwarblade Posts: 761 |
The characters in this series look incredible - clearly pain-staking detail was poured into this level. Absolutely amazing, a must-play. | 2011-07-29 17:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
