Attraction: Wheel of Richness

Archive: 8 posts

Hi,

I would like to present you one of my level called "Attraction: Wheel of Richness". It is the first level of the "Attraction" serie that i will continue slowly (perhaps one level of the serie a month).

The concept is a sort of Race. You are in a small environment and have 90 seconds to make the higher score. It is designed for 1 player.

In the present level, your challenge is to clean a giant wheel in rotation of these score bubble. But it is necessary to understand the construction of the wheel (and so, play the level many times) to obtain the highest score! Warning: if you stay in the wheel more than 90 sec, you will not be able to finish the level (and then to validate your score).

The level will not take more than 2 minutes of your time but i think you could have a lot of fun on it.

Please, Try, Enjoy (or not!) and Comment
Moreover, if you have suggestion for the next levels of the serie, share them with me !!! I have a couple of idea for the following, but it is ever interesting.

PS: You can also play my other levels:

A Link with the community V0.7
Color of Sound
Way of Light
The Quest of the Great Pyramid

PS EDIT: Actually there was a bug in the level that block you when you would finish him. I corrected it. The way is now close only if you spent more than 90 sec in the wheel. Sorry for the inconvenances.

Since this is a mini-game my feedback will naturally not be extensive as it usually is but here are my thoughts:

Pros

- The Construction of the wheel is amazing and the hard work really shows, well done.

- I love the Wheel of Richness sign. You already know that I put big logos of my lvl titles within my own levels so it is always great to see when another creator does it too.

- The lighting is great!

Suggestions:

- Make everything custom! I am really getting tired of seeing that mushroom tree everywhere lol.

- The lighting is great but at times I found it too bright and it actually made me dizzy! However I have to mention that I have always been sensitive to bright light so it could be just me

Overall a really fun mini-game that would probably be best if played with friends

Hi OCK,

First of all, thank you a lot for playing and commenting AGAIN one of my levels. You're feedbacks are, as always, very useful and i'm sure that you help a lot of creators of this forum to improve the overall quality of their levels

The Construction of the wheel is amazing and the hard work really shows, well done.

Actually, the giant wheel was initially a sort of personnal challenge. But starting the construct, i rapidly saw that it will be much more complicated than i imagined. I had a lot of work in order to render the wheel functionnal.
Finally, after a littlebig more work to increase the gameplay possibilities, i published it as a mini-game level.

- I love the Wheel of Richness sign. You already know that I put big logos of my lvl titles within my own levels so it is always great to see when another creator does it too.

Since my level was short and uniquely center on the wheel, i added this introductive sequence. As i told, perhaps i will create other levels in the "Attraction" serie. The tittle sequence will be one of the link between these levels.

Make everything custom! I am really getting tired of seeing that mushroom tree everywhere lol.
Oh, yes, OCK, you know how it is important for me to add custom elements in my level (and my GIANT WHEEL isn't the most important custom element of this level?)...
But it is here a simple introductive sequence. However, if in my future projects i will create custom objects (as trees) that will fit well here, i will make changes. I promise

- The lighting is great but at times I found it too bright and it actually made me dizzy! However I have to mention that I have always been sensitive to bright light so it could be just me

I replayed the level today focusing my attention on this point. And i must admit that you are perfectly right.
I will decrease the brightness of somes of the big flashing lights.
Thank you for this

Actually i never played it in multi (shame...). But if members of the forum played it and enjoyed it in multi, tell it to me, i will add this in the descritption.

Thank you OCK for your feedbacks.

This is one of the few levels I have played where the tag "points-fest" is NOT pejorative! And I have to also say the style of the whole thing is very well done.

I cannot see anything that needs to be fixed or corrected. But (if the thermometer allows it), it would be really cool to put in a 90-second timer to coincide with the race, and have a few things happen in the game when the time is up. Like the audience "awwww..." sound effect. I don't know if this is possible, but if the music could be stopped or changed at 90s, that would be great, too.

Perhaps a warning at around 70 seconds that time is almost up could be put in? I got so caught up in catching the bubbles that I stopped watching the clock
