Hi. Loved the wheel platforms, I think that's very original. And everytime the situation is different and the jumps change. The scenario has also a lot of decorations and elements and the music fits perfectly with the Russian level. Well, I don't know nothing about politics but everything look cool hehe I can't say nothing negative right now... Maybe one part is a bit tricky: there are some empty rotating "pistons" and you have to jump through them, but inside there are weights that keep falling and kill you if you don't jump early. But anyway the level is fun overall ^^ Please leave me feedback at my level https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=56955-Math-Millionaire-Quiz | 2011-07-02 11:00:00 Author: ara_que Posts: 63 |
Thanks Ara_que. I puy alot of thought into the rotating wheels so glad you enjoyed it. I ended up going back and forth with the difficulty of the rotating pistons, not sure how hard to make them. The slower they turn, the quicker the blocks come falling down. In the end I tried to find a happy medium. Maybe some tweeking is required there. Thanx again. | 2011-07-03 02:16:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
Level: The Wheels Of Revolution PSN: MicGorbachev LBP.me: http://lbp.me/v/2fj8j2 The year is 1917, and there is unrest among the people of Russia towards their Tsarist Monarchy, and its oppression of the working class. As well as your primary quest, there are also 8 Marxist secrets to collect along the way. Collect all 8 to unlock Lenin's Score Challenge. 1 player preferred. Good luck and I hope you enjoy. For more on the Russian Revolution, visit... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Revolution_(1917) http://lbp.me/v/http://lbp let me first say i loved it. i learned about all that in history this year! i loved he challenge. and i had fun looking for those red balls for 100 points. overall great lv. the only thing i would suggest for you to fix is the wheels with the spikes. i glitched them by garbing the switch to start the timer in the middle of it going down. | 2011-07-04 22:21:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks Ghost-Aok. Glad you liked it. Do they still teach about the Russian Revolution in history classes? I will look into the spike wheels issue that you mention. I thought I had that covered. Thanks for taking the time to play my level and place feedback. EDIT: I have tried to glitch the wheels in both play and create mode and can not seem to do it. I will send you a private message to see if I can narrow it down. | 2011-07-05 08:30:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
I loved this level. I loved the design style and could tell that a lot of time and energy went into this. Very well designed level and the game play mechanics are top notch. Plenty of clever and unique platforming to keep you busy. You did an outstanding job and this deserves way more plays. ps. I think what Ghost-Aok is talking about is that you can reset the switch on the spike wheel. I found it quite useful actually. If I missed my jump, I could just grab again to reset the time instead of waiting for it return. Awesome level. | 2011-07-05 14:51:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |

I felt drained after finishing it. if you want you could add me on psn and ill show you. i am but when i grabbed it it would mess up the wheel and make it so where the timer was off. Thanx. I now understand what you are meaning. I have gone back and tried, and yes, you are correct. This is happening because the timer and the wheels are not sharing the same logic. I am going to have to give this some thought. | 2011-07-06 08:52:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
Heya MicGorbachev, Played through this level last night. From the standpoint of history its...ahh...a little wonky, but that's not why we plays games, anyways. The stage itself was really nicely put together, i thought. Good use of layers, lots of jumping and platforms, but everything is spaced just right, i felt, so things don't drift either hectic or boring. Well done, there. The art was definitely a plus point, the posters, the super-deformed Lennin, the Marx bubble stickers. You've obviously put a lot of time and effort into this. If i had any quibble here, it'd be that the Oktober Guard, that shows up to help you towards the end, is just so clean. Slapping a few dirt smear or rust stickers on to those jackets, maybe a swirly or scribble sticker on the faces would go a ways to making them look a bit more rough. The one point i wanted to mention to you, about the wheels getting reset, was already brought up up-thread, so i guess there're no major problems left for me. All in all a fun, quirky level that remembers at all times it's a LBP platformer and delivers on that perfectly. If it would be possible to trouble you for a spot of feedback on my "Bloomin' Oni-ons!" level, i'd really appreciate it (the thread's here* https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=59257-Bloomin-Oni-Ons!). Thanks a lot for your time! Good day and great creating! | 2011-07-06 23:08:00 Author: waffleking23 Posts: 535 |
Thanks Waffle King. Glad you enjoyed it. My historical reference for this level was my Russian Lonely Planet guide and Wikipedia, so it is very possible that I have some of the story not 100% accurate. I am still brainstorming what I can do with the timer. I am thinking maybe forcing the grab switch devices to drop all the way down even if the player lets go half way. Thanks again for taking the time to play my level and place feedback. | 2011-07-07 09:32:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |

Heh, don't let the history thing get to you, it was 100% intended to be tongue in cheek, yeah? Just couldn't think of anything else negative to say, since the timer issue'd already been covered. Wish i had some advice for that, but logic is definitely not a strong point for me. Good luck with it though. | 2011-07-07 23:23:00 Author: waffleking23 Posts: 535 |
This was a superb platformer. I always felt that the factory of a better tomorrow had that communist oppression feel to it. I'm one of those history obsessed people, and I found the story absolutely fine. If you went into any more detail it would've felt out of place. It was all very fun and very pleasing to the eye, with nice gameplay ideas that are simple but new. Especially loved those wheels that dropped you onto bouncepads once you got to the top. Very enjoyable. 5 stars if I could, and hearted | 2011-07-07 23:40:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |

I find a lot of story levels try to fit too much into the level, so it was a deliberate effort to keep the story simple so it didn't get in the way of the platforming. The wheels with the bounce pads was something that came to me at the last minute. This looks like an awesome level. I'll check this out tonight! | 2011-07-08 13:07:00 Author: DoodVogeltje Posts: 81 |
Hey. This is a very entertaining level, i had alot of fun playing, never got lost as it was always clear what to do. I did get alittle frustrated at times..lol. I love the gameplay, how the obstacles move, particularly the rotating spikey platforms. The only thing i noticed that i would change was the scraping noise of the spinning sponge wheels, before the rotating crushing obstacles. Overall a fun & entertaining level with a nice little story. Oh and congratz on being spotlighted! | 2011-07-11 16:02:00 Author: gigglecrab Posts: 232 |
oh communist russia the time when they said the working class will rise up over the high class, the time when stalin and lein rule the russia revolution, and when sackboys run around and have fun. This level look like fun I queue it and I will play it soon but right now im on vacation so I will play it when I go back to NYC. If you want try out my level (Cryo Lab Rat or The Heart of darkness, both level links are in my SIG) | 2011-07-12 08:53:00 Author: Arnald23 Posts: 1843 |

I will look into the scraping sound. I thought I had that sorted. I tested all the wheels for that, leaving a 1 grid space gap. Cannot tell if troll or just my comrade. I am a member of the Communist party of the US, and am excited to play your level. Got it all queued up for when I get home | 2011-07-12 14:30:00 Author: poorjack Posts: 1806 |
I'm going to review your level now Positives: + Theme worked really well, the level had an indescribable flow. + Platforming was challanging and fun + Level was not too long + Visuals/details were worked out brilliantly + With the presence of those red pictureballs, you needed to pay alot more attention to the level for open gaps, extra paths and secret holes Negatives: - There was one point, with the turning/blocks falling mechanism that was kind of unclear. I like to work out a plan when i stumble across a mechanic. I was unable to read what to do at the blocks so I kept jumping until I saw the meaning. You can keep that more simple! like no turning at all! ( it was also the only point in the level where i died... - You could have given a little more information why you want to start a revolution. You have the tzar at some moment... What did he do wrong? Why do you need to capture him? Yes, I know the original story behind it, but sertain sackpeople don't! Verdict: [9/10] All but all, the platforming was worked out brilliantly, the scenery was breathtaking and you have created a good way to pay more attention to the level with the red pictureball. Outstanding job! | 2011-07-12 19:52:00 Author: CoolEnergy Posts: 23 |
Thanx Cool Energy. Glad you enjoyed it for the most part. I hear what you are saying about more information with the story. I was going to have an intro movie giving some background on the Tsars oppression of the working class, but the deadline for the competition that this was entered into crept up too quickly. The intro gives some background, but of course that only stays on the screen for a few seconds in LBP2, as opposed to LBP1 where it is there all the time until the level finishes loading. Maybe I will finish the intro movie that is sitting on my moon. Thanx again for playing my level and leaving feedback. | 2011-07-13 05:45:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
Hello, MicGorbachev I played your level and found it very interesting! Very nice story line, beautiful decoration, good gameplay and smart obstacles! And difficulty choice is almost perfect - it is hard enough but no very much. Very good work! I am from Russia and I love you creation And I found one more favorite author! Thank you for this level! I will add your level in recommended level section on Russian LBP community site LittleBigRussia.ru. I will wait for something new from you! And I will play your others levels. Here is video of you level: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_nUlkCmCJs | 2011-07-14 09:31:00 Author: Domik12 Posts: 838 |
Thanks so much Domik12 for playing my level, placing feedback, recording it and putting it on Youtube and LittleBigRussia.ru. You're a champion! Glad you liked it. I am very interested in how Russians feel about this level. So far most of the plays from Russia like it, but there are a couple that seem to be offended by it. I never intended to offend anyone with this. It is an entry into a history level competition and I have a big interest in Russian history. Thanks again. I will go and check out LittleBigRussia.ru | 2011-07-14 10:03:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
I thought it was a fantastic level! all wonderfully presented with a great theme and neat story telling and some first class gameplay stuff. I liked all the wheel obstacles, very fun and clever how they open out. Everything all neatly set out too, wonderful layout, materials, stickers the works... I don't know really what else to say as it's really to me a flawless level. Keep up the super work! | 2011-07-14 21:15:00 Author: LordMagicPants Posts: 187 |
Good stuff. Visuals and story:gameplay ratio were very much like a MM level. I'll have to have a replay to find all the bonus balls. Only some minor annoyances: - Resets on the wheels. (I know how finicky this kinda stuff is, so it's acceptable imo.) - Need to layer switch (auto or manually) from checkpoint to difficult obstacle (one of the final wheels). (personal preference though) - Final cutscene interrupts bubble combo. (no F4F required) | 2011-07-15 04:20:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
That was an awesome level. VISUALS: The level has great material choices, impressive cinematics, and polished designs. SOUND: Great use of the interactive music from Monster level kit. GAMEPLAY: The obstacles of this level is intriguing, and the level has great use of real water and bounce pads. One problem I found in this level is that the wheels seem to rotate up and down at the last second of the countdown before it resets, but all the wheels still work. The secrets are an great optional objectives, even though I found three out of eight of them. OVERALL: This is a really fun platforming level. A yay and heart. I wrestled with that for a while. I initially had the front layer set higher so you had to jump, forcing you onto the front layer, but it looked a bit strange, so I kept everything on the same height. However I think I might revisit that. Thanx again for playing my level and leaving feedback. That was an awesome level. GAMEPLAY: The obstacles of this level is intriguing, and the level has great use of real water and bounce pads. One problem I found in this level is that the wheels seem to rotate up and down at the last second of the countdown before it resets, but all the wheels still work. Thanks JustinArt. Glad you liked it. Yeah the timer needs some work as highlighted in previous posts in this thread. Still brainstorming what I can do to fix it. It is caused by the player letting go of the grab switch before it is all the way down. The timer and wheels do not share the same logic. The music from the Monsters kit seem to fit. Very Russian sounding. Thanx again for playing my level and leaving feedback. I will queue your level and play it tonight. | 2011-07-16 02:00:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
Grreat level. I already played it a few days ago, I've just gave it an other try to refresh my memory. It was a really fun and enjoyable level, with a well balanced difficulty, great visuals and a good flow. Everything fits the theme perfectly and the platforming is really good. I had trouble the first time to pass the wheels with the falling blocks in them, but the second was more easy as I already had the timing. And that's probably the only complaint I had with this level, because overall it's well polished and fun! congrats ! If you have the time to return the F4F favor, can you check my BLOCKS level (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=60020-BLOCKS-1-PLAYER-ONLY-Puzzle-Platform-Exploration-level)? Thanks ! | 2011-07-17 09:37:00 Author: Slurm Posts: 262 |
Thanx Slurm. Glad you liked it. The wheels with the falling blocks seem to be where most players are getting stuck. I might revisit that and reduce the difficulty level. Thanx again for playing my level and leaving feedback I will queue your level and play it tonight. | 2011-07-18 05:44:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
ok im back and here is my review. This level was just mind blowingly beautiful the way you use the theme from the factory of a better tomorrow and change the story in your own look is just brilliant. The story is awesome and relative because everyone knows what happen during that time. The gameplay is just wonderful I really like the way you use the piece of cog that turns and then opens up and you have a small platform part with a timer. There was a part that is a little annoying, the part that there is a piece of metal that droops up and down is a little to difficult, I suggest to put a antigravity or something to make it go slower ok. Anyways this level is just awesome the music, the gameplay, everything was just pure awesomeness. Also the ending was funny lol I hope you create a part 2 to this ok keep it up If you want can you play my level which I said in my other post, thanks | 2011-07-18 16:54:00 Author: Arnald23 Posts: 1843 |
I hope you create a part 2 to this ok keep it up If you want can you play my level which I said in my other post, thanks [/B] Thanx Arnold for playing and placing feedback. Glad you liked it. I do intend to do more of this sort of thing, although I am not big on sequals. It maybe another fact based story level, but set in a different time period. I have played your level and left feedback. | 2011-08-08 07:19:00 Author: MicGorbachev Posts: 372 |
I liked this level. I like finding secrets stuff but i only found 2/8 i think but it was a interesting map and story. May try again for a better score. | 2012-02-10 02:19:00 Author: Unknown User |
