| Geared UpFastbro Dash to the top of the tower as fast as your tiny legs will carry you and make your mark on the highscore board. Yes, after 6 months I have finally decided to release another level! I've been preoccupied with other stuff lately such as exams, etc. so I taken a large break from my favourite game. I've been working on this on an on and off basis for the past two months. It helped me get back into a groove for the game before I started work on one of my larger ideas. It has no story, it's a level about grabbing the highest score, I hope you enjoy it. | :star::star::star::star::star: Because I immediately wanted to play it again for a higher score and do better on the obstacles. Even though I have several other unplayed levels sitting there. The level had a pretty random design that I thought worked. Posters and gears in a cave? | Here's the feedback. Awesome Stuff: Great visuals. Solid gameplay. Stuff That Needs To Be Send To The Void: Go and make it longer NAO! Stuff That Was Strange, Yet Awesome: Fastbro's way of thinking, Grab a spider in order to get a race. | Geared Up Fastbro Score: 7.9/10 Rating::star::star::star::star::star: Dash to the top of the tower as fast as your tiny legs will carry you and make your mark on the highscore board. Story: None here. N/A Gameplay: FIrst when I played it I though I was kinda boring. But after a couple runthroughs it got more fun. I really like the interactions with the gears. The basic platforming is also very solid and fun to play. Some parts could of gone more smoothly, such as when you have to slide sackboy through three straight gears to reach a switch. That part could've gone better. Overall, the gameplay was pretty solid. 8.25/10 Music/FX: Nice music here, but where's the FX? 5/10 Asthetics: The visuals are ok in this level in my opinion. The material choice could've used some work on with the stucco and the other rock, but I don't know any other combination that would've looked good on the top of my head. The stickering wasn't very present, but I did like it when you did sticker the level. The corner editing was nice as usual. On another area. The back ground looked very bland in just being the stone there. Something more in the background would make the level more visually appealing. 7.25/10 Originality: Really old stuff with the racing-platformer level, but pretty neat with the gear gameplay. 7.5/10 Misc: Woot! High Score! 10/10 Fastbro's new level may not have the charm or story as some of his earlier levels, but if you're a fan of platformers, you should play this level. | Every two weeks, the Spotlight Crew goes through levels that were posted since the last Community Spotlight, and picks out the good ones to mention. If there are any that are good, but not quite good enough for a Spotlight, they get a mention (a nod) at the end of the post. | I have always wondered: How do you even get a spotlight? Do you just write spotlight on the thread or ask someone for a spotlight? Just to be a bit more specific... Me, Coxy224, and VelcroJonze (at the time, the rest of the PSP crew vanished) play through every level posted in the PSP showcase. So if you post a level in there, your level is automatically eligible for a spotlight, nod, or no mention. Full spotlights are reserved for the excellent levels that are extremely good, and the nods are for good levels (it's still a big honor to get a nod, so don't feel discouraged if you do in the future). http://i51.tinypic.com/2ro2whs.png Okay... Geared Up Score: 8.5/10 Rating: :star::star::star::star::star: <3 By: Fastbro What a fun level!! This is an adrenaline rush from start to finish! Story: N/A/10 Not much. No prob. Music/SFX Choice: 8.5/10 The music fit well, but I feel like there could've been some more SFX around the gears and such. Appearance: 8/10 The materials blend great, as do the gear objects. I would've like to have seen some more stickers though. Creatures/Objects: 8/10 The only creature is the thing at the beginning, and I liked it. More on the simple side, but still good. Gameplay: 9.3/10 Fun stuff. As said in the spotlight, the option to have this level be a race is friggn' intense!! As intense as camping!! (which I'm kinda guessing nobody understood the joke on that.. In-tense.. In-tents... No? okay...) Anyways, the platforming is solid and very fun. The replay value is endless as well. Good job. Overall: 8.5/10 (not an average) Very fun and fast-paced. Crazy fast-paced. It would've been nice to see a more detailed level from you, but even so, the gameplay is awesome and thats what matters most in my opinion. | Excellent stuff there FB. Played it today ( at work ) and really enjoyed it. Looks great and plays brill. Found myself moving up off my seat to try and get Sackboy to jump that little bit higher and cleaner to finish it quicker. Great level.
