This is just classic stuff, it's like a LBP version of Asteroids, it's just fun and classic. No complaints, it's solid.
It's great, gratz!

Here are some suggestions:
1) Maybe you could add different dimensions of rocks, like in Asteroids!
2) Tone down the sound effects volume, that "bleep bleep" sound when shooting gets old fast since you're shooting all the time.

Please give feedback on my levels! F4F!

enjoyed the retro shooter vibe in this level. Has the essential element wherein you think you can improve your score on each turn making it quite addictive. Everything runs very smoothly including the vessel controls and weapons. A good fun hectic retro scifi blast.2011-07-03 17:23:00

Really well done level. The whole system seemed pretty flawless, and the visuals were very retro. A couple things that bothered me though was that the level was just a bit generic and didn't have anything special that would make this level stand out. Also there was no health bar in the top left corner, there might have been at some point, but not when I was playing. Finally what was up with that box? Was there a purpose to it other than to give me a smaller area to play in because enemies and bullets could go in and out, but I couldn't. Overall it was a fun level.2011-07-04 08:02:00

Hey there nice retro level.

I liked the feel of this shooter and the gameplay was pretty good. I thought it needed a little more to the look though and a larger playing area as it felt very compact like i was playing an old Nintendo gameboy game on a tiny screen.
The sounds seemed fine to me and i liked the title menue and health bars.
Not really much else i can suggest though i wasn't sure about being sent to another level after finishing this one. Maybe have a level selection screen or something so that players can choose which level to play. At the end of each level you could then send them back to the original level with the title menue and then they can decide to play another level or leave.

Thanks for the feedback guys, i might make the play area larger.

@ OptimaFrogg I actually moved the health bar to under your ship when i added multiplayer support, i just forgot to change the text saying its in the top corner oops sorry. Your right, it is quite generic so far, i will be adding some ideas i haven't seen anyone do before though.

@ LordWarBlade I am going to take the level link off, bad idea , and i haven't really worked on the visuals yet. My main goal is to get all the game play elements perfected first.

Haha, I really enjoyed this level. It's cool that you can play it with 2 players now. Couple of things though that could use some improvement:

- The text notes in the Tutorial are a tad too small. I don't know if you can enlarge them, but I find them barely readable
- It takes an incredibly long time to load due to the level link, which was kind of a mood killer for me.
- I like the simple and plain look of the level, but I find it a bit too empty if you know what I mean. Maybe you could add some planets, meteors or stellations and stuff. It makes the level more attractive to play and makes it really stand out.

That's it for my feedback. I hope you found it useful. F4F my level as well: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=59483-Tubular-Bells-Mike-Oldfield-%28Exorcist-theme%29

Hey Guys! Just back from a long break from LBP, got working on my level, fixed up a few bugs, added in a "Continue" screen so you don't have to reload the level, and worked on the Multi-player aspect. Would love some feedback, and i am willing to do a F4F.2012-01-31 19:17:00

The levels thread is here:

probably easier to just post the feedback there rather than trying to monger with the PS3 typing.

Added to Queue Will leave some feedback soon!

Played your level in response to your feedback on thornywood Thicket

-Great job on the vehicle and menu designs. both were simple, effective, and worked well.
-The emitting point of the projectiles is a little too far away from the vehicle to hit objects directly in front of you, emit the projectiles as close as you can to avoid this affect.

Also, dont listen to those who are saying your level is a copy of all of the others. It's got your own style, and that makes it unique!

Thanks for the feedback, what annoys the the most about how i "copied" those levels is that i have never even played them . i will move the projectiles closer to te ship, thanks! 2012-02-01 02:02:00

The level is pretty good, it does what its supposed to do. It got pretty intense at one point as i was being swarmed by the evil triangles lol. To improve on this i think there should be more power ups, i didnt see that invincibility thing, probably cause i didnt survive to long. But I think like a power up like shield, or shoot 3 bullets at one time would be a pretty good addition. Overall it's good, but its missing something.2012-02-01 20:40:00

Thanks for the feedback, i had planned on adding some more power-ups, shooting multiple bullets was actually one of them too.2012-02-01 20:43:00

Update: Working on adding "achievements".
Ex. Reach 10000 points without taking a hit (if you do this you will receive a bonus amount of points, maybe 5000.)
Good idea?
Also thought about adding, bombs, short speed boost and some more enemies.

EDIT:
Sorry for the double post

I played this level about 5 times. Very fun!

There were a few problems I ran into. The continue function did not work the two times that I tried to use it. I couldn't move my ship after I used it. I got well over 10,000 points, but the invincibility powerup didn't show up for me at all. Also when I was looking at the tutorial, I was able to change the sfx and music with the left stick as if I were in the options menu.

Now as for gameplay. I really liked how you are simply thrown into the game and the difficulty builds up fairly quickly. I was pretty surprised at how I was swarmed by enemies not too long after I started. One thing I noticed is that enemies kept spawning very close to me when I was at the edges of the level, but that is probably my fault since I was near the edges anyway. I did see you say that you planned on adding more powerups, which is a good thing, since it will greatly increase the quality of this and replay value.

Long story short, I really enjoyed it despite the few problems I had. Cant wait to see the full version.

Thanks for the feedback. The continue function is... Well, weird, it's 50-50, it either works or it glitches and kills you :s. I have been tweaking with te power-ups because i thought they dropped to frequently, i guess i lowered it too much. Thanks for spotting the music and sfx glitch, never noticed it, should be easy enough to fix.2012-02-01 22:35:00

I agree with Lilballer22. More bonus during the game and it will more funny.
I really like design both on presentation and game. It's easy to manage vehicle and shoot, easy and efficient that's what I like in a game. You can add a background? Maybe moving background...
I don't know how you do it and I will be interested to see it on your moon.

Thanks for the feedback, i'm actually working on a new power-up right now, and i might add a better background, but i will leave that until after the gameplay is finishe and fully polished. Thanks again

EDIT:
New patch, read First post to see patch notes

EDIT:
Another patch, fixed a glitch that gives you 30 seconds of invincibility everytime you get hit, i'm surprised (and lucky) no one took advantages and got a massive score

It's pretty good but like others have , it's also pretty generic and could use some unique visuals and gameplay ideas. (This is if you want this to truly shine). Because this will always be compared to Madness is an Option, and you want something that famous levels like that don't have.

That said, I noticed a few other issues that should be fixed. Pretty frequently, I notice my bullets passing through the enemies (pink and blue ones, at least) without actually damaging them. This probably hurts the level the mos for me. And when I died, and went with the "retry" option you provided, it got back to your game screen with the spaceship but everything was frozen and none of the buttons on my controller did anything. The enemy spawns are good and the speed of it all, while on the slow side, is still quite fun and tense

Thanks for the helpful feedback, i am aware of both of those glitches, the ony problem is, with the retry, sometimes it does work, which just confuses me as to why it doesn't sometimes, and te bullets passing through, no idea what's going wrong. :/. I plan on re-doing the visuals, to make them look alot nicer, i just want to perfect the gameplay elements first.2012-02-06 19:55:00

Thanks for the feedback, what glitches did you come across? Not including the "Continue" glitch2012-02-07 21:06:00

Well, the continue glitch was the most important one.
If i chose not to continue i couldnt finish the level (Don't know if this is really a glitch.. but i think it is because i saw some people who had submitted high-scores).
Besides that i really liked this game
